Back on topic (if there is a valid topic here), my favourite techno is pretty much anything that came out from mid to late 90s from the Detroit second wave techno scene. Now THAT'S techno.

I also love a lot of the british techno from the 90s, such as Leftfield, The Chemical Brothers, The Orb, and of course, the legendary Underworld. And The Crystal Method from L.A.

Also love The Prodigy, but not sure if they qualify as a 'techno' band (some of their tunes are -- their style is all over the map).

They went away from dance/techno but their last album puts them firmly back in the genre.

uhm, none of those (Leftfield, Chemical brothers etc.) are techno. they are electronical music, but in totally different subgenres like trip hop, house or dance. Prodigy had only one album you could call techno. it was their first release. but maybe there are differences in the definition of techno. at least in Europe something like early Moby wouldn't ever be called techno, while in the USA his early works are considered from this genre.

I don't know what you define as 'techno', but all those groups I listed are labeled as such in their respective wikipedia entries. I know, its a user-created database, but enough users and moderators concur them to be considered techno, which must count for something. And I certainly would never consider any of those groups, even prodigy, as 'dance'. And they certainly are not house either, IMHO. True house music is basically dirty disco.

I really don't know the difference between electronice, techno and all that stuff...

Ooo I forgot about eiffel 65, I like that song, but I learned of them through "I'm Blue" So it's kinda special for me lol
I also forgot about Daft Punk, I like One More Time a lot, but most of his songs are catchy :P
