Cheers, I would highly recommend stuff by Black Dog, they are without a doubt pioneers of IDM. Bytes is a masterpiece of the genre & was one of the releases that formed part of the ground-breaking Warp Artificial Intelligence Series and is definitely worth a listen.

The band split after a while & two former members formed Plaid whilst the remaining member alongside a couple of label owners from Sheffield continue to record as The Black Dog. Their recent stuff released on Dust Science & Soma is superb.

I'm not familiar with Crystal Method. I'll check some of their stuff out on YouTube.

i think Crystal Method kinda falls into that big beat sound (i.e. chemical brothers, prodigy)
