Tom, no rush, but I'll list in this thread any dupes of games that are popular and could use some manual cleanup in the database:

www.listal.com/search/games/1/?query=first+encounter
the main entry is incorrectly set to 'PC' platform when it should be 'PC Games'. The one that is currently listed under PC Games is a broken duplicate (no amazon info), and there is also one with no platform info.

www.listal.com/search/games/1/?query=deadly+shadows
this one is a mess. 3 PC versions and 4 Xbox versions? so confusing.

www.listal.com/game/halflife-2-pc
this one should be under 'pc games' platform, and not 'pc'.

www.listal.com/game/prince-persia-sands-time-pc-16336
www.listal.com/game/prince-persia-sands-time-pc
these two should also be listed under 'PC Games' and not 'PC'

thanks for getting rid of all 'PC' entries and making them all 'PC Games'. It makes it a lot cleaner on my Game Overview page.

www.listal.com/search/games/1/?query=blake+stone
these 3 have 'no platform' set. they should all be 'PC Games'.

www.listal.com/game/wolfenstein-3d-spear-destiny-
this one as well

seems like a lot of the old school games have 'no platform' set. probably they aren't in amazon's database.

I fixed the pc games issue but anything else will probably have to wait for user editing. If there is no platform set it probably means that amazon doesn't have that information set for that game.

I know you don't want to give a specific date, but how long before we can expect to see more powerful user editing database? I think there's a bunch of us on here that are just aching to go nuts on things such as missing actors, duplicate games and music, and things of that sort.

Hopefully this month. If nothing else, moderators that can change things.

I'll wait till my points get to 10,000, but I can count on Prelude and others until then. User editing would be intriguing and well worked at, wouldn't you say?

we have very good user volunteers on this site. take coroner, for example. fairly new member, but already is getting close to passing me, with 147,000 points! and most of them are uploading TONS of old movies, posters, and star images. way to go, coroner. awesome job!

i've been slacking lately on here, very busy at work, but got a spurt of game screen shots added last few days.

what IS crummy, is all the naruto-heads moving up the ranks, in 40,000+ range, simply from the insane amount of posting they do. I think perhaps its time we eliminate the points for thread posts. they can keep posting, but not really fair that others who have contributed so much more to the site (such as Draco and his steady posting of every new movie coming out) being passed by at least 8 naruto posters.

Though its a bit off topic, but I also think that the points for posting threads needs to be changed too. Users with no collection should not be allowed to rank that high.

I've also been slacking lately, mostly because my connection would die if I tried to upload my usual amount of images at a time, and think that other contributors are very helpful. :)

I wish I could spend as much time on here as you guys but I try when I can.
And when/if we ever get the chance to edit entries, I volunteer in helping out to straighting out the gaming entries.

Points for forums posts will be lowered (that will include all previous posts) or everything else will be raised.

Do you think you could lower the posting points? I'd rather not make everything bigger if that can be helped.

Admittedly, my collections are very small. I get compulsive and do lists and tags, but mainly I help out with book reviews. I haven't done too many, but I've gone back and edited some of my old ones to include more personal text after the introductions. Both of the reviews that were voted on (by the generous Munky) have been updated, among others. I feel it a bit cool to have been ranked 132 when I only just joined over the summer and amn't on the level of contribution of many others.
