The Riddler!

So all signs point to the fact that "The Riddler" will be villain in the next Batman movie. But the question is who should play the Riddler. I personally think Johnny Depp would do a good job in the role. But what do you guys think?

Nolan has also confirmed that Jonathan Nolan is writing the script and that the villain of the film “won't be Mr. Freeze.” Nolan also confirmed that the Joker will not return.

Although Anthony Michael Hall was rumored to be playing the Riddler, he actually played a reporter named Mike Engel. David Tennant has expressed interest in the role. While doing press for The Dark Knight, Gary Oldman alluded that the Riddler might be the villain in the proposed third film. Robin Williams has also expressed his desire to take on the role as the Riddler in Nolan's upcoming sequel. In July 2010, film news website FirstShowing.net claimed that a reliable source had found a casting grid document that proved that the Riddler would be in the film, and that Joseph Gordon-Levitt had expressed interest to the studio about playing the role.

Filming starts April 2011, with a proposed release date 20 July 2012.

tl;dr: David Tennant, Robin Williams or Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I heard recently that Chris Nolan is considering Leonardo Dicaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Tom Hardy for the role. All three would be a good choice. Robin Williams I doubt would end up with the part, David Tennant might be a decent choice and Johnny Depp would be awesome as the Riddler. I personally would like to see JGL or Leo get the part.

Michael C. Hall would be my choice for The Riddler.

I think James Franco would make an interesting Riddler
