The Invisible Man ?

Every other day I try to feed this site with some pictures I find interesting.

I had quite a few votes two weeks ago, but for the last week I got not a single one. Of course it may be people don't like my pictures. Could it be another reason ?

Vote for images, vote for lists, make lists.

Build it and they will come.

Edit: Just had a quick look and you seem to like ladies in underpants, not sure what to suggest then, if you can't get votes with the easy stuff, perhaps you're more doomed than a doomed thing called doom.

I really don't need to be weighted down by thousands of votes. The point was I got 36 votes one week, and 0.0 the next one (and what is more : 0.0 view !).

I was just wondering if it could have been any diffusion issue.

A lot of times the points are not updated so if you're going by something posted on Listal and not physically counting your votes than you may be missing some.

My best suggestion on how to get votes is to vote on other people's stuff in the galleries you like, add friends.

Please, if you do add more make sure they you are not posting duplicates, that's the quickest and easiest way to lose friends and votes on this site.

JaimeLeah I agree I surely posted some (or many ?) duplicates.

But not a single view (not a vote, a VIEW) for my 200 pictures on the last ten days (after a week with more than 100 views, and... after this thread !) seems to me rather unlikely. Never mind !

It must be a conspiracy then, started by the Underground Underwear Underground Underlings... be careful out there underwear lover, you are under surveillance.

Just out of interest, why does it matter? Regardless of how some people think, Listal is not a game, it's not a race for being the top spammer, it's simply a way to pass the time. Unless you have many friends, you are unlikely to see a constant stream of votes, it's just how it is. Perhaps you should channel your time into making lists, perhaps to showcase your uploads. Find something more fulfilling to do, your current hobby seems to be frustrating to you, which is odd.. given your choice of images.

Listal is not a substitute for Monaco or Roland Garros, I agree with O.J. Besides, I'm not in search of votes, and I will never make lists or anything like that.

But it is true I hope a minimal return on investment, so I wanted to check if users were just ABLE to have a look at my posts.

Because I had doubts about it, rightly or wrongly. Maybe for some technical reason my updated votes had in some period some trouble appearing quickly in the "global feed" list (and my posted pictures still more...).

Frenchboy, as I was saying sometimes Listal stats are not updated so you may be getting views that have not been recorded? Or you may be posting for people no one cares about. Are you posting a lot of Instagram pics, those don't usually get too much attention. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.

@frenchboy I agree with what the others said, but let me add my 2 cents. Sometimes I receive votes every hour, sometimes I don't have a vote in a long time. I believe it all comes down to visibility. I think there are "waves" of higher visibility when:

1. you create a new list or post a picture, so it's visible to your followers (as they see your updates in their streams); besides, new stuff is on the top of your home page.

2. someone votes for your stuff, so that's visible to that someone's followers. Maybe they'll vote for you too, so your stuff will be visible to their followers too, and so on... One vote leads to another one, like a chain reaction, till it slows down.

3. your lists or pictures get promoted to home page, and that of course brings votes.

No improvement but never mind.

Related question : sometimes I vote for pictures (that seem quite 'normal'), I appear in their lists 'who votes', but... not in the 'feed' (global or personal). Why ?

Illustration of that last point : I 've just voted for 60 pictures, I see them in 'my feed' but not in the 'global feed'.

Maybe a rule I am unaware of.

Today I voted many times. You're right Jaytoast, my recent votes appear, but I think one set of around 60 pictures 8 hours ago disappear completely. Curious, and maybe sometimes the posted pictures have a similar fate...

Other point I don't understand :

Somebody voted for 6 of my pictures 2 hours ago (Rickterenzi, thanks !). I can see that when I look at his 'my feed' page.

But shouldn't his votes appear simultaneously on the 'global list' ?
