The Hobbit

Well, I am working on this list from time to time and I generally read every thing I can about the Hobbit's production to stay on top.
How is everybody else feeling about the project?
Will you go and see it? I have a friend who has already written off everything to do with LotR but I still hold hope that I could convince or trick him some day into watching it with me.
Do you think the expansion of a classic narrative is a great idea? By the looks of it, they are just making it up as they go along now. Especially with Orlando Bloom coming back. :|

I have recently updated the list! Check the link above.

I haven't read the books in a while, so forgive me if I'm being vague with my analysis, but The Hobbit was more fun for me because it was so much more colorful and filled with humor. Every encounter was amusing in itself, beyond simply advancing the plot. The trilogy was just so focused on the detail of Middle Earth that it didn't give off as much of the life and energy that the first book (unless you count The Silmarillion as first) had.
