The Brothers Grimm

Okay, so I know this is a late post because the movie came out a long while ago... but who was disappointed in The Brothers Grimm. Visually, so so cool, everything I love about Gilliam. But the story was poor, and the movie just wasn't very good. What did you think, Gilliam fans? Was it worth watching just for the visuals?

It's definitely not his best work, but it's probably not his worst either. The whole thing reeked of studio interference and the story seemed to be almost designed by committee.
Should check out "Dreams and Nightmares", Bob McCabe's retelling of the making of the Brothers Grimm. I don't think it made the movie any better for me, but it definitely helped me appreciate why some of the bad points in the movie were the way they were.

I thought the movie was awful! I was very disappointed in it. When I saw all the previews and who was in the movie I expected that it would be good. Even the things that were supposed to be funny didn't seem funny to me.

I was visually pleased with it, but the story was pretty poor. I would have to say right around 6, maybe 7 out of 10 for me.
