anyways.... back to topic, not too many great Hollywood directors, I prefer the foreign ones. But if i had to give maybe 5 names, Hitchcock (or was he considered british director?), Chaplin, Kubrick, Burton, and Welles.

18 years ago at May 14 13:27 - Can't believe no one has mention the Coen brothers yet! They're probably my favorite current filmmakers. Their last couple films have only been so-so, but their catalog before that is awesome and their next project looks interesting.
I'm also a huge Terry Gilliam fan. I wish he'd make more than 1 film 5 years, though.
