A few of us were discussing in this thread
www.listal.com/groups/viewthread/7757/
about possibly having a new group called 'Creative Corner' for postings of this nature:
- personal stories
- help with novel
- show off personal artwork
- link to personal videos
- *proper* Role-Playing
- fan-fictions
- limericks and poems
- song lyrics (personal lyrics)

Such posts are very hard to classify in normal groups, and usually end up frustrating users of the other groups due to their random nature and many comments

Oh I thought I'd be butting in again if I agreed. Yes Yes Yes. A good amount of the forums are full with fan fiction and threads of peoples art/photographs.

I assume a Creative Corner would cover things like people's art work or photography? One thing that would aid that kind of thing would be the inclusion of an upload picture button in the 'reply to thread' area that I'm typing in right now! That way you wouldn't have to mess around with html codes o uploading their work on another site.

I assume listal has endless capacity for photo hosting!?

Sure. Can't see why not. Doesn't leave much worth keeping in Random Chat, but I have faith in our mods to handle it.

I personaly think this is a mighty giant step for Listal, Allowing people to show there creative flair, that will attract a might large group of INTELLECTUAL artistic people, lots of understanding, more access to different kinds of literature, help and support of fellow writers and artists and that stuff.

instead of being stuck in the vast sea that is Random Chat, lost and forgotten...

^^ in other words, Down with Random Chat! Up with Creative Corner! (It is much more catchy and attractive too!)

I'll vote for it if criticism isn't going to be seen as a personal attack against the person because there are obviously people with talent and those without. This should be in a Sticky! bfore people start uploading their work.

Finally, a place where my sonnets can go on show!

Lolz, the problem is, a lot of people can be very hypocritical sometimes

They want criticism, but when they see how much they have it makes them feel bad and they get the urge to lash out at the one who said it.

All they really need to do is get their brains working and realize that the criticism is to HELP not hinder them

Well, criticism can't be harsh-hearted either. There's no need to sugarcoat how someone needs to improve, but if it's clear they're trying to improve at least no putdowns.

"Subpoena"?
