Suggestion to make more interaction and daily contribution

What if you stole a page from Facebook addiction handbook and made a 'What did you watch, read, listen to, or play yesterday?' or 'What are you planning on watching, reading, listening to, or playing today?'
These answers would be visible for all your friends to see, and they would be added to an ongoing dynamic list 'My Most Recent'. This list must allow duplicates, so if someone plays game 'X' for 3 days straight last week, it would show up as such to their friends.
The idead behind it is if someones does a logon to the site each morning or afternoon, they can quickly add what they saw on TV, or which movie they saw, or which game they played. This would be useful for info such as 'What your friends have recently done', and it would also be useful for each member, so they can quickly jot down what they've seen or played, in case they want to make a review or properly rate it at a later date without forgetting about it. It would also build up some more incentive to log in daily.

I like this idea, a status update like facebook but tied to a movie/book etc

Items listed in such 'status updates' would not automatically be added to your 'watched' or 'read' lists (maybe only as an option).. i'd rather seen them added to a running seperate list.
For example, would be nice for others to know this about what I did last few days, especially if it was tied to comments/notes:
So the first two entries, I already have listed and rated, and third one, I may or may not necessarily add or rate. But all three may be useful to add to the social element of Listal.

Watched Yesterday: Raiders of Lost Ark - "Seen it many times before, but first time in several years, and first time my girl has ever seen it.. they dont make movies like this anymore; it puts all recent action films to shame"
Watched Two Days Ago: Episode of CSI: Miami - "Don't watch the show regularly, but this particular episode about undersea treasure from a spanish galleon and murder that followed was quite good."
Today Events: Lego Indiana Jones (Wii) - "Having played the PC version extensively, I tried the wii edition at a friend's house. Horrible loading times, shit graphics, and moronic implementation of the wii controls (swing to attack.. or hit button B) shows pure laziness Wii port... avoid this game"

What about a status panel that the user can update. ie Escafeld is currently reading, just read, wants to read, recently watched, wants to watch, just listened to, etc etc.
;-)

Yeah I thought it was suggested before but I would consider a new feature rather than a usability issue.

Yeah my bad for posting it in the wrong thread.

I think this idea is sort-of-maybe-semi-quite-possibly complementary to what I had proposed in my thread Currently... What-have-you.
I think it'd be cool if somehow we could do both a status update for what item has just been used and have a little box of stuff we're currently knee-deep into - separately if convenient.
