Suggestion: Improvement to Custom Lists

first off, thanks Tom for the resizeable thumbnails and align left/right img callouts. that makes my lists so much sexier :)
i'll try not to ramble too much, but it's a bit hard to explain, so here goes. the issues i've run across many times with my game lists is quantity vs quality. Do I include every single port, uk version, pal version, special edition, collectors edition, handheld conversion, and even wii virtual console re-release? My Donkey Kong list was pushing 50+ items and I felt it was too much of a mess. the list would be complete, but with scare off people when they saw every single version of DK on all early atari, colecovision, intellivision, c64.. you get the drift
so what I started to do is the following, with a bit of resizable thumbnails and linkage:
www.listal.com/list/donkey-kong-series
notice the Atari 2600 contains the C64 and intellivision versions. and entry #8, the Donkey Kong / DK jr. NES game has been released as two seperate Wii VC titles, as well as a GBA port. or entry #10, DK Country. Ported to GBC, then again to GBA, and finally to Wii. They are all pretty much the same games, with minor differences.
I was able to reduce the list to 25 items, but have it still feel complete, and also its adds a nice blend of colors throughout.
drawback: these 'mini-referenced' items are no longer 'linked' to the item page. You go to Wii VC entry for DK, for example, and there is no more 'Donkey Kong series' list.
suggestion #1: any way to automatically scan thru custom notes in list, and if any 'item' is referenced, it gets the DK list added back on its item page?
suggestion #2: failing option #1, any way to 'hide' certain items? basically, have them 'in ther list', but hidden from view. (i.e. they dont get a # entry in the list)

its probably a minor thing and if its too tricky to do, no worries. but it would also really help out lists that have lots of 're-release' version, limited collectors editions, a 'player's choice' or 'platinum' version', and then PAL equivalent of all of those as well.
take my Doom list, for example:
www.listal.com/list/doom-series
22 entries, and there only really 3 Doom games. LOL
and I left out all the PAL/EU/UK versions.

Combine image html with URL html, Prelude. See my Castlevania list (don't worry - still in progress) for a few examples.
suggestion #3:
Makes things much easier for Listlers.
EDIT: Ah. I see you've already done the html I specified. I don't see too much of a problem then. Maybe what we need is a list tag for mentioned items. Like tagging friends included in a note on facebook.
EDIT #2:
suggestion #4: Center alignment html to complement left/right formatting.
suggestion #3:
2) Sort results by release date, the alphabet, 'relevance', rating, ascending, descending, list price, etc.

suggestion #5: options to divide lists to pages, once lists start having hundreds of items it can feel a bit too much on one page, and might take time loading etc. IMDB 250 is still fine on one page, but what if someone makes a list with 1001 items? So an option to divide lists into pages every 50, 100, or 150 items would be nice.
suggestion #6: improvement in notes field, so that the text goes evenly on the left margin, and not under the cover image. Maybe it's just me, but it can look a bit awkward:

#6 is a minor annoyance, but I agree, it does look off. My Xbox360 new release list is almost always flush:
www.listal.com/list/new-x360-releases-coming
but then the PS3 list can look weird in some cases, as the PS3 boxart is more of a square than an upright rectangle:
www.listal.com/list/new-ps3-releases-coming
(see GTA IV and Bourne Conspiracy entries)

suggestion #4 should make suggestion #6 easier to maneuver around. Image sizes vary, and if text goes directly under the image on all occasions you're going to witness some pretty nasty text overlap. Unless you're even more OCD than myself it won't kill you. I think it's aesthetically correct to place the item images where they are (top-left). Of course, if you're really OCD you can photoshop the same image with slightly different length/width and upload it so those little words go exactly where you want them.
