LoginSuggestion for auto-type tag feature, plus possible bug

18 years, 6 months ago at Oct 31 13:16 - First suggestion might be a bit complex, but I'd LOVE to have a similar tag auto-type suggestion just like blinklist does it.
go to www.blinklist.com . Unfortunately, you need to make a free account first before you can see what I'm talking about, but this suggestion is worth it. Once you have an account, you'll see a box near top left, with the words Public and My List next to it. Click on PUBLIC text first, since this will search all public tags (since you dont have any made in your 'My List' area yet). Than start typing the word 'comedy'. press each letter at a time, but pause (dont type it fast). notice after each letter pressed, a NEW pop-up mini screen shows up with suggestions? well, if just 'c' is pressed, it gives about 15 of most common tags that begin with 'c'. press o, and then it CHANGES the suggestion box, with about 10 most common tags that begin with 'co'. once again, after m is presse, you then get only top tags that beggin with 'com'. so even though there could be millions of tags in the public database, it only shows most common suggestions, and re-freshes every single letter pressed. that is the most wicked cool auto-type feature i've ever seen in any software, let alone web software.
Now that is just for general search. The same logic is used when entering tags, though. Once you have a few tags in listal.com, say comedy, drama, romance, etc.., if you press 'c' when you start entering a tag for a new movie, it would most like ONLY show comedy, or 'comedy' and 'comic book', etc, only auto-suggest from your own list of previously used tags. So if people want to add tag for comedy, just press c, and if you press ENTER, the first suggest tag gets put in. SUPER fast tag entry, a lot less chance of spelling mistake, and more people will start using the tag feature in listal.
Tom, it even works extremely slick when adding mutli-tags. Try it out, add a few random websites into blinklist, use a few common tags, and then when you enter a new website and start entering multi-tags, see how it auto-suggests next word as soon as comma and next word is entered.
Second suggestion, well, it seems more like a bug. In main page of movies, if I want to add a tag in listal, I press the + and the text focus is in the box, so i can start typing right away. But if I'm on detailed movie page, and I press 'Add Tags', I then have to press INSIDE the box since there is no text focus there. I cant just start typing as I do on main page.
And a word of praise: I love how you can delete tags (x) and add new tags (+) on list page. Blinklist, though its tagging type ahead is amazing, still needs to go into EDIT page each time tags are to be changed/deleted. I love having ability to do that on the movie list area. Definately keep that feature.
