Site Directions
Are there any directions for use of this site? I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do things here. Maybe I didn't have enough sleep last night. :)
Anything specifically?
Basically you just search for things with the box on the top right corner of the screen, under the personal column you can add to different types of lists such as owned or wanted and you can rate items. once you have rated/added a few items you can get recommendations or start tagging or reviewing items.
I will look into writing more help pages.

Thank you for your reply, Tom. I'll watch for more help pages. I think I'm going to need them. :) This is a very unique site and one I think I'm going to like very much.
Same here. I'm looking for a way to do things that I think I ought to be able to do, but can't figure out if the functions aren't available, or if I just can't figure it out.
Specifically, can I mass-edit/add a bunch of stuff to lists? E.g., if I search an author, like 'Charles de Lint' and find 9 books that I both own and have read, can I just mark them all as such? Similarly with tagging.
The other thing I'm having trouble with is using 'Read' as a list vs Read as a status. Sometimes I just want to know what books I've read so that I don't borrow them from the library again. Other times, I want to see which books in my 'Owned' list I need to read. Hence, I need to mark books in 'Owned' as 'Read', but it seems the lists are mutually exclusive?

If you view your "Owned" list of books, under the ratings for each item you'll see "Read, Reading, Unread" ... just click the appropriate word to set its status. :) Took me a little bit to figure that one out, too.
I thought Tom had started a site tutorial, but I can't seem to find it.. Even if there is one, the site is constantly changing and updating so it is hard to make one at the moment.
Anyway, you can keep the lists of "owned" and "read" separate by rating. If you rate the ones you read they appear on the "rated" list, and therefore you can keep the books that you own and the ones you have read but don't own (like library books) exclusive from each other. :) Combine that with Voxy's advice and you should be all set!
Currently there is no mass tagging system, but it seems to be high on the to-do list.
