Please pardon the post, but I was just wondering if there were any other Silent Hill fans here?

Man, I love that movie, isn't there a game series too?

There is indeed! I'm primarily a fan of the game series over the movie. The movie was OK, but the game series is much better (of course, I played the games first so I may be a bit bias!). Fantastic stuff.

Best horror series that I know. Though what I've seen of the most recent game isn't as awesome. But it was still good.

SH Homecoming wasn't good, though.

The first one is my favorite.

I had the first game on PS1 back in the day. The best game together with the RE series back then, but I had to cheat to get past that stupid piano riddle. The 2006 film adaptation was complete BS to me though, sorry...

Silent Hill 1-3 = amazing
The Room = not horrible, lost a little Silent Hill-ness
Homecoming, Origins = meh
Shattered Memories = Interesting concept, pretty cool
Downpour, that vita one = meh again

I adore Silent Hill though. The original 3 are perfect horror.

There's a 1996 PC game that was later ported to the PS1 called Silverload which Silent Hill is very similar to. In Silverload, you are pulled into a creepy town that has been transformed by a cult. You are searching for a child that is not yours. The town is crawling with monsters and you unravel your strange connection to the place (that you somehow forgot) as the story goes on. All of this was revisited in 1999 by Silent Hill, but no one seemed to notice that Silverload did it first. There are enough differences in the two games that make them outwardly unique, but in terms of the basic plot, Silent Hill is a pretty good ripoff of Silverload.

I love the Silent Hill series. I just wanted to point out the above because it's interesting and most people have never played Silverload (which got terrible critical reviews).

Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill, Silent Hill 4, and Silent Hill 3 are my favorites.
