Any tips on something similar, and actually good? Like, not cancelled...

I'd recommend you the UK version of Life on Mars and its spinoff, sequel series Ashes to Ashes. Life on Mars intentionally lasted Two seasons and the spinoff series intentionally lasted three seasons. Of course these series are about a singular person out of time in a world not his or her own but I think you might like these.
