Ask someone else

ask one of your teachers how to start a petition. In many cases they are actually helpful.

Depends on what you're going for, the little clipboard with the zillions of signatures on it, or the big request speech/document thing with zillions of signature on it...

Also, a petition won't always get rid of the uniforms, after all it is only a request, but people will respect you more for doing it rather then striking or rioting, and be less annoyed... Plus, you are giving the voice of the kids to them, but they still really have the power to decide, though they'll be a lot more hesitant...
You should probably try to get the petition done before they start using the uniform rule, maybe if you want to try and make it bigger, have you and your friends send opinionated little articles to newspapers saying why you don't want them, give essays to teachers to get on their good sides.

Geez people you could try being helpful...

Silent Killer is right though, ask a teacher about it, they know more about this stuff then we do lol

idk much about petitions, but i'm pretty sure that you can't ban the school boards desicion with people that aren't from where your from. try doing this with some of your friends at school and parents, it could help, but i don't see how we could help if the board decides to do it.

i like Japanese`s school uniforms they look cool but i do not like American one

I dont think that uniforms are such a bad thing, they are quite usefull. They help determine the school one attends, keeps the students as a cohort and allows those who dont have enough money to buy the best clothes to feel like no matter what they wear, they are apart of a group. So, to me...
creating a petition to ban uniforms is pointless

Don't petition about uniforms, they're a good idea at school. Not everyone had enough cash to laden their kid with lots of designer labels. When that kid turns up every day in cheap clothes, they're gonna get a reputation and a thorough pasting. You go to school to learn, not to be comfortable!
silent killer 16 years, 5 months ago at Nov 18 20:11 -
If the teachers were doing their jobs right, the schools wouldn't need uniforms to straighten out foul mouthed bastards.

what i think students will do about their school uniform problem is dropping out of school, it's just going to make things worse, ever seen a goth wear a school uniform? it's not right.
William 16 years, 5 months ago at Nov 18 21:21 -
oooohhhhh, sorry Phenomenon i mis read.
i agree with both desert punk and silent killer, it can only make things worse than what they already are.

im aware, dina, that some kids couldn't get enough money for new cloths, but a school uniform not only makes things worse, it takes away your originality, your ability to decide what you wear, when you wear it, and how you do it. puting a lable on a uniform and saying that you have to wear this or you'll get kicked out is just wrong in my opinion.

but i can see your points too, it dose keep things orderly, and you really don't have to worry about slutty outfits much....

but it still don't make the loud mothed bastards (as killer so boldly put it) behave.

yea, i would only work at a place like mickey D's if it was a summer job and i was really close to another, higher paying job. then i'd quit.
silent killer 16 years, 5 months ago at Nov 18 22:33 -
You misread me. Uniforms will probably make things better. I'm just saying they wouldn't be neccesary if the teachers and parents were actually doing their jobs of teaching their kids right. A little empathy can go a long way.

Around my area all our schools have a dress code. It's all very informal however, and at first all the kids were making a fuss about it, but it did make things better. Granted, the dress code was put in place to deter the gangs from identifying each other and getting into allout brawls at school. But hey, it worked. I haven't heard of anyone getting stabbed or shot at school since the district wide dress code was enforced about ten years ago.

well we have a dress code as well and no one is really disobeying it so i dont see why my school has to get uniforms. im a sorta-goth sorta-emo kind of person and i dont even disrespect the dresscode. its even worse to make me go out and look exactly like others with no indication of who i really am
