First of all, let me tell you how much I like this site. I've been looking for something like this for a long time and I've tried several sites before, but this one is definitely good looking and user friendly.
My questions comes from the main reason I decided to join: recommendations. When I looked at Listal's features in the about page, the second one reads like this:
"Get recommendations based on your item ratings".
When I read that I finally decided to open an account.
However, I haven't been able to find any recommendations based on my ratings. I've seen, after some searching, that there are items that go to a recommendation list based on the ratings one gives, but this is on a per member basis. That's not the same as getting recommendations based on one's items' ratings.
Can you enlighten me? Where can I find such feature?

I turned off the old recommendations system as it was getting very slow to calculate. I need to update the about page as it's really old now.
The nearest equivalent to the old recommendations feature is seeing who matches closely with your ratings and then clicking their page and the recommended links. I would like to add more ways to get recommendations in the future.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the site, it's great. But I was hoping to get recommendations (mainly on books) since I seem to have different tastes than everyone around me.
I'm a member on a couple of other sites, but I like this one the best. I hope you consider adding more recommendation systems.
Anyway, thank you for your hard work and for letting us have this experience.

17 years, 4 months ago at Dec 30 6:26 - Hey DW, when viewing an item you can see friends' ratings if you have friends who've rated the item. If you see a reviewer you agree with (you can browse reviews on the main page) or just meet someone you seem to be on the same terms as, don't restrain yourself. The purpose of Listal is to connect people through their interests as well as the inverse of this equation. Try exploring ratings by either scrolling through item ratings or viewing top raters (from the item page) and identifying with a few of them. If you'd like, of course. Tom'll have more stuff in the future for this.
