Reading group

If there's already a group for this, I'm afraid I've overlooked it. I thought it would be a neat idea to have a group where we can pick books to read more or less in tandem, which we can discuss when we're all finished, and then move on to another... and so on. If this takes off, perhaps we can extend to DVDs, too, although we'll keep things simple for now, eh? If you're interested, join the group and, once we've got a few members, we can pick out our first book. But, please - only join if you really are interested and intend to actively participate, as, you know, this won't work if you won't...

Splendid! Any more, for any more? The more the merrier!

ill be in it i read alot of books

The point isn't just to read a lot of books, but to read one together, then offer our critiques on it, before moving on... and so on. But, if you fancy it, feel free to join.

I'll join, if the book's on our shelf. I might also go to Half Priced Book. In that case, I'll hold off stocking up on Bildungsromans until we decide on a title.

Once three or four more have joined, we can work out a tile, eh? :-)

I'm pretty busy right now anyway, so that's fine. ;)

I'm interested, though I don't always have the money for books and may not necessarily want to read what's picked...
So eh... er... well, count me as a possible candidate. I'd like to see some more details on this little campaign before I decide.

You would have a say in what's picked. But I guess we'd all have to read books we might not otherwise go for, if we're being fair to everyone. Might even be pleasantly surprised by them. There aren't really any more details to give: a bunch of us decide on a book. We read it. Then we share our thoughts on it, once we're all done.

Everyone is shy --- it is the inborn modesty that makes us able to live in harmony with other creatures and our fellows. Achievement comes not by denying shyness but, occasionally, by setting it aside and letting pride and perspiration come first.

Shut up with your fortune cookie nonsense.

yeah yeah sure call it what you want the more complaining proves the more foolish u humans really are.

Uhm, you're a human. In fact, all of you Naruto guys are the same human.
You can really post anything of that caliber and tell people they're foolish for not listening to it. It's just that the foolishness of humanity is irrelevant to the topic at hand (unless we're reading Lord of the Flies or something). It's just like when you've finished your soup and are hoping to get a fortune cookie with some information about the future or your personality, and you get something like, "Tip the waiter generously and you'll get an actual fortune next time."
So, you end up punching the waiter flat in the face, and the next time you're in for Hot & Sour, you get "You have unerring self-control.".
At any rate, let's not throw in random phrases where they don't belong. Kay? ;)

Hehe, I'll join, and I'll contribute in the discussion if I can get hold of the book at my library, okay? Do we get to read a wide selection, such as fiction, non-fiction, etc, or do we just stick to, say, fantasy?
