rating/rank idea

cryo 19 years, 5 months ago at Dec 4 1:57 -
i know this would be extreamly hard to do, but ive always thought it would be kind of cool to rate movies(or anything) this way:

it would work like a (less than)(greater than) type ranking. so insted of rating 1-10 then realizing one movie you ranked 10 wasnt as good as another movie that you ranked 10, you could say "xxxx" was better than "yyyyy" but worse than "zzzz" (or as good as). and it would automaticly sort in a logical order on how you view your movies.

its just an idea. because i realize thats how i talk about how good a movie was with friends...
'yeah but it was better than _____'
'yeah but not as good as ______'

I agree in principle. I like to sort movies by how much i liked them. But a scale of 1-10 isn't enough to cover that. May be a scale of 1.0-10.0 (with ratings like 5.5), or equivalently a scale of 1-100 would make it possible to sort by ranking.

Or as a possible alternative, an AJAX interface to sort movies by drag and drop (which of course should be saved when the browser is closed) would do. There is such a greasemonkey script for netflix.
