RATE A MOVIE is broken?

The area where you rate a movie, one a time, is broken. I can click on rating, or want to watch, or skip, but then nothing happens. That same movie stays on the screen. I'd expect it to automatically refresh with a new random movie, correct?

yup, its working now. And thanks for making the image a link to movie page, that helps too.

One odd thing though. Why is it worded skip/not interested? I would think those two should be seperate things. Sometimes I might want to skip a movie i never heard of, but that doesnt mean its a movie I'm not interested in.

I assume currently that 'not interested' are movies you really don't care for or want to ever be bothered with, whereas 'skip' should be when you have 'no opinion' on a film. It might also mess up good recommendations of movies if someone did a lot of 'skipped' movies doing the rate-a-movie feature, but inadvertedly permanantly banned those skipped movies from the 'recommended' system.

Yeah it's a good point, I've added a new skipped list type and changed the wording, I could also add the option to rate skipped movies in the future as well.

I'm just not sure if I should include the not interested option as well as this might be a bit confusing.

Well, it kinda plays a role for Recommended list too.

Ideally, what would be nice is to have 'Watched', 'Want to Watch' (those two categories are self explanatory), but 'Not Interested' is a bit of a mess right now. You see, it is nice to rate crap movies down, but I dont necessarily want them on a visible list. I know you made the 'not interested' category visible because many of us had movies we accidentally moved to 'Not Interested' when using recommendations, and then there wasn't any way to add that back to 'Watched' or 'Want to Watch'. Well that was in the past, but now, any movie, even if its on 'Not Interested' list, can easily be flipped back to 'Watched' or 'Want to Watch' thanks to the changes you've done to the invidual as well as list pages.

So it makes me wonder, do we even NEED a 'not interested' (and now, 'skipped') list? Yes and No, i think.

Reasons for YES: - to skip/ignore items in the Rate-a-movie thing, as well as recommendations system.
-also, I have started to use 'not interested' to rate bad movies that i never plan on ever owning. (coincidentally, its now almost impossible to add any more to my 'not interested' list for this purpose, since those links were removed).

Reasons for NO: clean up and simplify the site and clutter, and to avoid confusion.

I dont know best way to fix this/clean it up. Anyone have thoughts on this?

I think for my situation, i'd like to see 'skip' be used only as a temporary way to bypass a movie in Rate-a-movie or Recommend-a-movie. maybe make a hidden temporary list that blocks those movies from showing up in those features for a month or so. Just because something is skipped, doesnt mean i never want to re-visit it in the future, or have it recommended to me later on. And instead of 'Not Interested', how about a list called 'Disliked' or 'Don't watch' or some sort of wording to that effect, where we can put (and rate) BAD movies, and make those permanently blocked from the recommended system for us.
