Quentin Tarantino Vs. Christopher Nolan

Neither are my favorites, but Tarantino is possibly cinema's biggest retard - ever.

Nolan makes conventional but dull action films with the exception of his Memento, which proved a rather harrowing viewing.

Tarentino IS GOD!!!
The most brilliant director of them all.
All I mean really ALL his movies are masterpieces that stick into your mind for years and eternity.

I consider both to medicore; however, Nolan is definitely more talented. Whereas I simply don't like Nolan's films, I consider Tarintino's to be genuinely harmful to cinema; the man's managed to capture baseness and put in the form of 2 hour movies. Nolan's proven himself capable of making intelligent, engaging film like "Memento"; Tarintino merely pieces together various fragments of banal pop culture, and has managed to fool just about every major critic into thinking it's genuinely good film making.

Oh, and his dialogue sucks ("Does he look like a bitch" and that sort of shit stopped being funny after middle school)

Now I think they are both very talented directors in very very different ways.

I now think that the guy above me is way crazy and needs to take his meds.

Personally, I find the story and the actors to be of more import to myself and not so much the director. Yes, a bad director can ruin a film but the best director in the world can't do anything without a proper story and decent actors.

As for the two mentioned above...they're both decent (and I've seen films that both were involved with that I like) but neither are the best in the field. Tarentino is an anomaly and something of a fad right now, so time will tell. Nolan is too new and hasn't even made enough movies for me to tell. IMO The Prestige is his best yet but I need to see him work on more.

John Carpenter, Clint Eastwood and Tim Burton are my own personal favorites and better than either of these two. ;)

Tarantino. I guess. Kind of a nonsensical pairing to duke it out. Nolan has made one pretty good movie, that being The Prestige. Then he made two good Batman films and mediocre to below average cinema. Tarantino pretty much reinvented the way films were back in the day with Pulp Fiction (credit from that to Avary too though). And Basterds was probably a better film than Nolan's filmography combined. A no-brainer for me.
