Problems with different versions of Games

foolx 13 years ago at Apr 19 11:03 -
Hi there!

I am a collector and REALLY like this Webpage!
But as a collector i hardly can use some of its features.
For example: I LOVE Dead Rising and own some different Versions of this Game. I would LOVE to add all of those Games, but somehow it's not possible!

Try yourself: Search for Dead Rising
You will get 7 Results for Dead Rising (Xbox 360)
The First Result is the normal US Version of Dead Rising. Someway down you will find the Dead Rising Classic Edition (Also US). I added this one, because i own a AT-Edition of it. But i can't do anything with it, because if you click onto the Classic Edition, you get redirected to the Normal US Edition.

Why isn't there a way to show of all different Versions of a Game and add those as own titles to your collection?

Just for Xbox 360 there are SEVERAL Dead Rising 1 Editions:
Dead Rising (UK)
Dead Rising (AT)
Dead Rising (US)
Dead Rising (PAL)
Dead Rising (Promo)
Dead Rising (Classic US)
Dead Rising (Classic UK)
Dead Rising (Classic AT)
Dead Rising (New Classic UK)
Dead Rising (Limited Edition UK)

Why isn't there any Way of adding all of those as single Items to the DB without redirection to ONE edition?

I would LOVE to have the actual Box-Art my version has got in my List and not be forced to view the US-Box-Art i DON'T own!

Hope there is any way to get stuff done!

There is a way to change the edition of the game, but the Listal database doesn't always have every edition available. If you go to the Dead Rising page again and check at the bottom of the left column, there's an option to change how the game is listed in your collection based on the edition of the game. It's got a header of "Editions" and a few editions of the game beneath it as options to switch how the game is displayed in your owned/played/wanted list. Not all games have this feature, though. Particularly older games. As far as I'm aware, there's no option to manually insert game editions to a game if the Listal database doesn't happen to have it. Though, that would be a really neat feature to have if Tom could find a way to make it work.

Hi Again,

you are right, there are Editions, but still i am not able to say: I own this edition and that edition.
So even if it would be possible to add new Editions to that list, i wouldn't be able to add more than one to my list ;(

i already own 3 different Dead Rising 1 Editions and i want to have even more ;)

I just did a test, and if you click on "owned" in the search screen on both the classics and regular versions, eventhough they link to the same default page, they will both show up in your list. You'll still need new editions added to the Listal database (if possible) to list all the versions you own by the sound of things, but at least you'll be able to get a couple versions listed for now if you want.
