I was just thinking, and It sounds like a good idea if you could get points for adding a movie, or a game etc. What do you think?

Sounds good to me, I've added lots of obscure music items in the past and it's a bit of a pain!

I thought you'd resorted to creating your own music/bands on your laptop to keep things as obscure as possible GA! gwakgwakgwak

RB6K, you are truly weird. Why don't you just stick to the subject? Anyway, that just sounds like a great idea.

The problem with this originally was that people were adding plush toys and heaps of shit like that.

I am talking about adding films that are not in the database yet, or games, and t.v shows and such. I have added loads of items on this website.

So have I MM! But seeing as you don't recall or were not a member then, the Games database was layered with loads of Amazon products that weren't even Video Games, this was because people were adding anything and everything to acquire points. They didn't even have the decency to add a picture of it!

I just think people will get carried away in that respect.

However, if we need incentive for people to add things to the database. I guess this is a logical step.

Well, even though I was not a member that long ago, I still think people should be rewarded for going through the big process of adding items. If people get carried away, then just don't allow them to get points for doing it.

None of that stuff was user added, it gets added when you do a search with the amazon data source selected. Although I'm not even sure if I record who adds movies and tv shows to the database, I know I record the person who adds a custom/manual entry though.

I will probably add points for adding items at some point in the future.

Big Process? I thought it was just pasting in a link once you found it on IMDb. I have often thought it would be good if I was getting points for doing this but it was easily abused.

That would be a good idea though, diasbling member's abilities to do certain things based on how they abuse it. This could be applied to Picture and Reviews aswell.

Are you sure Tom? I thought it was an issue when the game merging came about.

It's a big process because it takes effort to do. And points for it would be great.
