I signed up with them before they became one of the regular widgets that you can add to "Blogger".
Basically it has become far too complicated to keep up with the various programing changes that happen on all the social network sites. So, many large companies and simple blogers just opt to use "AddThis".
Personally, I use it to re-post my stuff on Facebook, Blogger and sometimes Delicious.
