Picture Deleted

I was just wondering why my pic was deleted? The pic was posted over a year ago and had the most votes and someone deleted. Someone posted the same pic 6 months ago. I notified them the pic was already posted and mine was deleted. Why's that? heres the link for the pic

my update feed shows, that 6 of my images have been deleted in the last 2 hours.

shouldn't there be a reason displayed why these image has been deleted?

and on another note: it would be helpfull if it would still say what kind of image it was. because now i don't know if it was used in one of my lists and i have to replace it.

i think i deleted these images myself. i was confused because normally this doesn't appear in the update stream. is this an error or an addition to the site?

It was a bug from upgrading the deletion system, I've removed them all.

I'd like to know as well why this image was deleted:

I didn't delete it but the reason would have been see-thru clothing.

why 14 of my old pics (4 of Marilyn Monroe, 10 of Lauren Bacall) were deleted 19 hours ago? The new ones are better/bigger? It was done by a mod or a robomoderator? Votes/views/comments/links are gone too?

It should say the reason in the notification list, if it was a duplicate the image will link to the newer image which replaced the old image. If a much higher quality image is available the old one might be 'merged' into the new one. Votes/comments should transfer the newer image, if not there there might be a bug in the code.

btw i don't think this an optimal solution but its either this or always deleting newer duplicate images even if they are lot bigger/better quality or a third solution is keeping both images which is not great either.

My image of Shay Laren in see-thru (www.listal.com/viewimage/1967292) was deleted. If you look at it, you can BARELY identify nipples, nothing more. Still, it was deleted. Actually, twice - somebody else posted the same beautiful image, which was dleted within a day. Waht's going on?

MPAA allows buttock and breast nudity for women to be qualifued as PG-13. If we have too many 12-year olds here, I suggest having Mature Content Filter for them permanently on. If older, let responsible adults enjoy the beauty. My humble personal opinion - I don't peretend to know the Truth.

@Grey Owl: it is really hard to draw the line here. it's not just about formal regulations (like MPAA), it is also on how Listal should be perceived by others. just let's imagine you are a new user or anonymous reader of this site, and see about 10% of all pictures are "barebutt", "nipples", etc. pictures, even without being 100% nude or of pornographic nature. it wouldn't make for a good impression, now would it? personally, i think it's bad enough that there is probably every nude-"model", porn actress etc. listed here, but naturally she also has in average hundreds of those pictures uploaded. now add the lists and meta-lists to that, with a promotion to the front site of course, it really isn't what i would call a boost in reputation for a site like that.

anyways, Tom has already adressed those concerns by introducing maturity filters. but even with those, it will be in the end in the eye of the beholder on what is considered appropriate, and what not.

I have been getting alot of my pics deleted lately, all saying duplicate posting, mine where posted before the other pics. FOr example I got notifications yesterday stating I had picture deleted due to duplicate images and the image they showed was posted just 4 days ago, and mine were posted well over a week if not 2 weeks ago. just wondering what's going on

Oftentimes the more recent picture is higher quality. Occasionally the picture uploaded earlier will have watermarks/tags that the later one doesn't. At instances the later pic has better/clearer definition. Sometimes it's mostly bigger, but once it reaches a certain size that doesn't really matter so much. If one image is 1124x900 posted earlier and the second image is of equal proportion and slightly bigger, at that size I'll keep the earlier one. I'll also delete the recent picture if the images are exactly the same.

It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your picture; just that we now have something which is slightly upgraded. Think of it as the community working together to improve Listal, not as a free-for-all battle to have the picture that doesn't get deleted.
