Pet Peeve

After reading GA's latest pet peeve, followed by katsuo's response, i just remembered another pet peeve....
- Anime-loving teens that are completely oblivious to the concept of irony and sarcasm

*sighs* when girls snoop around ur bf
Me too. *sniffs*
How about people who copy a well established review format.

yep that too how about people who judge other people just becuase they feel like abusing freedom of speech and putting other people down when they did nothing to them directly or indirectly

People who don't adhere to the rules of the websites they visit. Its so easy on Listal though. I don't know how Tom could make it simpler because it is so easy to understand a Media Collection Website! Rate, List, Review, Repeat!
This isn't a dating site or a MySpace/Facebook substitute!

people tht sing songs on the radio and they know they dont know it, but they keep trying to sing it instead of listing and actually tring to find out the words.
also when your walking through a mall and you and another person are about to colide, you make the effort to turn your body and the other person keeps walking straight with out making an effort like they dont see you. im just gonna start shoulder checking people. lol

The mindless f*cktards who bring 3 carts of food and what not into the line at the supermarket making me and others wait 3 godd*am hours, only to figure out they only have enough money or food stamps to cover one cart....I recently got banned from a walmart for calling one of these f*cktards a inconsiderate c*cksucker...god, just talking about it pisses me off.

^That's story's pretty funny to hear about, though I imagine it wasn't funny for them or you at the time. I've never experienced such an instance of inconsiderableness, thankfully.
One thing that bothers me is when I'm being driven by someone else and they have talk radio on. I know some people don't necessarily pay attention to the words and think it's relaxing, but I can't pay attention to anything else when there's talking and thus it grates on my nerves. Also, when they're trying to talk amidst the talking, that really gets me riled up. I'm fine with a white noise or music. Silence is better than talking, though I don't prefer it. But talking on the radio really bothers me unless it's really darn interesting - which it isn't unless they're going over world politics or something.

Women who have more children than they can support. It's a vagina, not a clown car, slut.
Parents who don't watch their goddamn kids. Shitty parenting should be everyone's #1 pet peeve. Period. Call me crazy, but it should really be a social stigma. I don't care if someone leaves milk out of the fridge or likes anime too much or *gasp* even forgets the lyrics. But if they're not parenting their children and setting a good example, then I don't care when the world turns on them. You see, I've got this terrible character flaw: I'm selective about who gets my compassion and charity, and people who put themselves in dependent situations out of stupidity and laziness don't get either.
Kids in their 20s who still live at home. It's called adulthood. Cut the umbilical cord for Christsake.
And of course, Gwyneth Paltrow.

It's really sad, too, that the kids ultimately pay the price for their parents' not disciplining them/teaching them to behave properly. Sure, they're oblivious to the need to be considerate of others, but this leads to them functioning poorly in society and the consequences this brings (no one can stand you and you thus have no friends, for example) - whether or not they feel the weight of those consequences.
On the other hand, everyone's responsible for their own choices (within reason) once they finish childhood. That and the fact that the few people I know like this act like total fascists because, you know, they're number one, makes me less than sympathetic.

Ultimately, society pays the price because shitbag parents often end up raising criminals, high school dropouts, or tax-evading degenerates. It doesn't matter if everyone thinks they're just the most wonderful person that ever lived. A piece of shit is a piece of shit no matter how many facebook friends it has. Besides, being disliked isn't a crime. I only gripe about the fact that our society in America makes it easy for people to continue indefinitely as parasites, you know people who can only be bothered to do something if it results in easy money or handouts. But then again, I'm an asshole. And I'm sure that's a pet peeve to some.

There's a certain stage of moral development that one is supposed to reach where you start to do things because you know that they're right or they benefit society. The people you're describing sound like due to poor parenting they haven't achieved this stage yet, and are doing things either because they feel like it or in reaction to the immediate results they know they'll bring. In other words - how it affects/will affect them. In my opinion at least, everything you do to contribute to your community is good for you personally as well - not simply because it (hopefully) makes you feel better about yourself, but also because this is a world you share with others, and you're not Pointland off on your own with no connection to time and space.
I guess it's not like I've brought about any great change in society or anything.
...I might have strayed a little from what you were talking about, astro.
