Derron 16 years, 6 months ago at Nov 4 5:08 -
There are some people that join one day do nothing and never come back like this person idontwanttobehere's Listal page. His names says it all. Why can't we just get rid of the profile other than it take room. I've seen lots more like this one to.

I joined about 2 years ago and didn't do much until last month. Give the guy a break - its less than three weeks since he signed up!

Why waste your time worrying about what other people are doing?

These are probably people who got sent an invite from one of their friends and join up for the sake of it. Then they don't bother learning how to use the website so they forget about it.

I think Tom is more interested in making the website look bigger and popular (for ads) than a full compliment of die hard contributors. That niche seems to be doing the world of good at the moment so its not in dire need of change.

The people who don't do anything yet persist to float around in the forums should be wiped out though.

Of course I want more contributors, there is no advantage of making the site seem popular since I don't do any direct ad sales.

It's pretty typical on many websites to have people signup and not do anything, personally I have signed up for hundreds of sites and only use a few % of them! Similar to sickthings said some I have come back to a year later and started using.

It's actually quite hard to find people that have done nothing on the site since they are not linked from many places, especially if they have no picture uploaded so I don't see a huge advantage in deleting them.

1% of users participate a lot and account for most contributions: it can seem as if they don't have lives because they often post just minutes after whatever event they're commenting on occurs.

Hmmmmm! ;-)
