ok, seriously, what's with the PRIMARY IMAGES?

who keeps changing Primary Images to the craziest wakiest cigarette-in-mouth erotic pose shirtless pose crapfest that's happening lately?

you set it primary, it affects EVERYONE... so try to pick most appropriate picture.. I mean, its getting to the point I can't recognized half the fuckin actors or actresses since they're 'crazy' pose is set as primary.

should we make this a lockable option, set by mods, if it keeps getting abused?

and no, i'm not exagerating... its almost as if some turd is doing it on purpose.

Tom, is there a history where we can see who's changing the primary images?

here's one i'm mostly pissed off at:
- harrison ford as frozen statue from Empires Strikes back (yeah, thats real helpful....)
- beyonce in bikini
- cate blanchet's legs only visible
- brad pitt all bloody
- bruce willis - when's he was like 18 years old??
- shirtless johnny depp

or (this one wins the cake)
- Robin williams as Mrs. Doubtfire

what next? Jim Carrey as 'The Grinch?' Mike Myers as 'The Cat in Hat'? or maybe set Robin Williams up as 'The Genie' from Alladin. coz yeah, then the site would look real swell for new members. *roll eyes*

its ok to post images like that, in fact, its great to have all characters an actor has played show up on their profile page... just dont set it as primary because if you're looking thru a movie, say 'Number 23', and instead of Jim Carrey's face, you see 'The Grinch', yeah, it would sort of tick you off

its the PRIMARY IMAGE changing that's ticking me off. the other solution, set primary as 'most voted picture', has backfired on other movie sites, as you end up with all shirtless and bikini pix of all actors (well, i guess not ALL actors.. hehe)

and ok, i can see why young girl may want to set Depp's shirtless pose as primary, whatever, I can change it back, but when over half of top actors images have been changed to the most ridiculous images (i changed them back, so can't show you, can only describe some of them) then it's clear to me its being done on purpose just for laughs.

so if we can find out whos' doing it, we can maybe deal with them individually and leave it so anyone can set primary ... though its inevitable once site gets more crowded, it will have to be changed, or locked, or voted on.

exactly, GA. Arnie's the exception. Bruce willis, he needs to keep his undershirt on. everyone else, 3 buttons off MAX. :)

In light of the new information obtained from GA, i think we should have 'most voted image' take priority over setting 'primary image' arbitrarily

well, I don't mean to be anal about it, as I don't expect or even want every picture to be their 'Oscar Red Carpet' shot. I mean, if we had Harrison Ford as Indy, Jim Carrey as 'Ace Ventura', or other famous in-character shots, that's ok, variety is good, and you're right, for some of the more obscure actors, ALL we can find are their in-characters photos.

I just draw the line at Mrs. Doubtfire, or a statue of Han Solo, or photos that crop poorly and end up showing only their legs or eyebrows. lol

I think really, primary images should only be the person on their own, relativly close up and not in costume.....just for the convenience of recognising them.

As for Bruce Willis when he was 18..maybe we should make it an unwritten rule to have the actor at their most recognisable stage...for Bruce Willis that would be now or duing the early Die Hards. For example, James Mason and Tony Curtis looked very different in their famous youth from their old age.

I dont know if the top voted image thing will work for a primary, people often vote for the picture that makes them laugh or looks cool...not necessarily the most acurate portrayal of the persons face.

I've also spotted a bug...sometimes the primary image gets wiped off and replaced when you upload a new image...maybe it's that. I personally go and find that same image and upload it again when that happens..but maybe some don't realise.

I think the deleted image bug seems to only be when the primary image is also the default (i.e. imported from Amazon/imdb). I've certainly not seen it anywhere else myself.

Yeah, I've been looking into it and you're right there Phil; it only happens when there is only one image uploaded.
