To better inform everyone of new upcoming titles in Games, please refer to these lists:

Xbox 360 Games: New Releases

Nintendo Wii Games: New Releases

PlayStation 3 Games: New Releases

PC Games: New Releases

Nintendo DS Games: New Releases

Sony PSP Games: New Releases

-------------
This is only North American release dates - no UK/PAL games are listed, as they sometimes have quite different release dates.

Enjoy!

I think it'd be great if something like this would be worked on all the "explore" pages. Don't know if that's conceivable and who'd manage the lists, but still...

yeah, i pitched an idea a while back for public list that anyone can add items to, or even have items added automatically (based on dates). I don't mind if my template gets used as a master list for 'new and upcoming releases' as i'm sure it will keep me busy come xmas season. lol

i picked february specifically as it's a dry time for new releases and allows me to start it up easier.

This is something you'll keep updating as games are released and new ones are announced?

Dang... that's quite the job, Prelude.

Most of the series lists are, come to think of it. I guess you're in for more than you bargain for when you sign up for these things. Which I've signed up for quite a few.

I'm hoping once its gets quite popular and then xmas season arrives, I can pass off some of these lists to others - or make these lists 'public access' and such

Any other suggestions? I was toying with idea of putting Gamespot links, demo links, and add developer, rating, and maybe even system requirements to each entry, but THAT would be too much. simply mainting these lists once a week won't be too tough.. only til xmas season hits.

if anyone wants to know where i'm getting these titles from, I use this as reference: www.gamespot.com/newthisweek.html?date=20080217&type=new_this_week&sort=rdate&dlx_type=all&sortdir=asc

All bottom of page, there is a VIEW ALL RELEASES but I concentrate only the major ones, and gamespot is nice enough to list each week's new releases in 'popularity' order, so as long as at least half the page is covered, we should be fine.

its a first-person shooter, set in alternate history in the US in the '50s. Basically, say US didnt go into WWII and the Nazis conquered all of Europe and most of Asia. And now the entire nazi force is launching a full blown attack with zepplins and bombers on NY and US mainland. very interesting concept.

update: a few more minor additions, and one big one -- Frontlines: Fuel of War on X360 & PC. Funny thing I just found out, the PS3 version was cancelled a couple weeks ago, after so many months of development, because of problems getting UnrealEngine3 to run on PS3 hardware.

PS3 is an overpriced pile of crap, IMHO. If you notice, not a single 'exclusive' title coming up anytime soon, and even major releases are bailing on them. It's just a $500 Blu-Ray player, that's all.

Spare a thought for the Europeans, apparently our PS3s aren't even back compatible for most of our old games. I can't believe Sony can get away with this. They really seem to hate their fans!

similar story on this side of the pond. they recently pulled the 60gb version off the markets here in canada, and the 80gb will be phased out too.

www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/subclass.asp?logon=&langid=EN&catid=24376
www.amazon.ca/PS3-60GB-Sony-PlayStation-3-60GB/dp/B0009VXAM0

as far as i understand it, the 40gb has ZERO ps2 support, the 80gb only has software emulation of PS2 titles, and only 80% of titles support it, while the 60gb had a separate hardware chip for full ps2 compatibility.

this site, shopbot.ca, shows only 1 place in canada that has the 60gb model, but click on the link and it shows as unavailable. lol

correction about that Frontlines cancellation. Shows that you can't believe everything you read on wikipedia. lol

kotaku.com/347317/ps3-delay-syndrome-hits-frontlines-fuel-of-war

this site claims the cancellation was a misunderstanding as stores pulled it off their sites, but apparently, the developer is claiming 'later in 2008' for the PS3 version. the problems with the unreal3 engine were correct though.

So i'll keep it on the PS3 list, just push it to the end and mark it as TBA 2008.

last update for now... i'll try to update just once a week. I'm up to early march releases, and after that, it gets sketchy and lack of amazon entries complicates things.

anyways, I have one more other uber-game added to Xbox 360 and PS3 sections --- 'Army of Two'

ok, added a PS2 section for new releases - not too much out there for it, but a couple of exclusive titles, so i guess its worthwhile. might kill off the list by mid 2008 if PS2 releases die off as well.

Updated.

Added several BIG games coming up later in 2008, such as the new splinter cell, brothers in arms, rainbow six vegas, and even Halo Wars. I figure if I get a jump start on the big hits that typically come out in oct-dec months, I should be able to keep up with this list easily.

tartan, no need for any more shock :) Spore is now on the list

In my defence, in wasnt until last week they finally announced a release date. Before, it used to be TBA, with not even 2008 confirmed. But now it looks like September '08 will be what they're shooting for.

there's a couple major titles i'm not adding, as their dates are still listed as TBA on Gamespot:

- Dragon Age from BioWare for the PC
- Alan Wake for PC and X360
- Resistance 2 for PS3
- Red Alert 3 for PC

The following I'll be adding real soon:
- Warhammer Online for PC
- Warhammer: Battle March for X360
- Battlefield: Bad Company (X360 and PS3)
- World Ends with You for DS
- Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3 (though I won't be surprised if they announce an X360 version as well)
- Tom Clancy's EndWar (PC, X360, PS3)
- Mercenaries 2 (PC, X360, PS2, PS3)

and yes, I'm not living under a rock, I will be adding GTA IV very very soon. been busy last few days, just bought a new house so have to get my old one listed.

ok, did MAJOR updates to all sections. Added about 3 weeks worth of new releases to each platform, removed anything older than a month, and most importantly, added over a dozen videos from youtube to various new releases (mostly wii games).

enjoy :)

This thread is hugely appreciated Prelude! Keep up the good work. So many games i never knew were due for ages are on there, its made me think perhaps i need to start cracking on with the overtime at work! Kanes Wrath manages to come out bang on my payday! Although im not sure if it is a worldwide release date or not, i might have a bit more of a wait!! Heck i just noticed Duke Nukem is back! Bound to be a fun game hehe, haven't played that in years.
This deserves a more visible link to it aside from groups, it must take a bit of reading and hunting around, not to mention time to find the pictures and write something in the boxes about them etc. Thanks again!

thanks for the encouraging words

I'd like to see certain TOP LISTS be made more visible, and hope these become part of 'exploring' the games section at listal. i have a few select sites that I use for reference and getting more streamlined in how I add new entries.

funny, its not the lists that are most time consuming, its that most of these games aren't even in Listal's database, so I have to add them thru amazon, edit their descriptions, and fill in missing covers. so if anyone wants to help out, the best would be to add as many screenshots and youtube video trailers for any new games I add to the list.

to answer your question, these are north american release dates only (as reported by Gamespot.com). some have been out in Japan for a year already, many adventure games seem to come out in Europe first before NA, but in terms of European release dates, best would be to search for the new game using the AMAZON.COM option, and rename the =us with =uk and hit enter, and the approriate European/PAL version of the game should be added, and hopefully with accurate release date (as taken from amazon.co.uk)

Sounds good to me, cheers for the info! I think perhaps when creating the lists you could save yourself a lot of time by letting people add the pics/ descriptions themselves. I mean some games you are spending your hard earned time on writing and picturing up for others when your never likely to even rate it yourself. It brilliant that you do it, but how likely are you to go near "My Horse and Me" ever again after adding it to the list. You could name it there, and let the horse fans do the rest of the work. This would likely benefit the site as you would probably use the time saved to do something else helpful instead of relaxing haha.

yeah, i know what you mean, but many people on here, especially say the horse loving crowds, would use listal only for tagging and listing, not to properly update each entry.

besides, ironically, i added that 'horse and me' entry specifically because i might want to check it out for my daughter. lol

What are the odds eh? I had a feeling if i picked it, it would turn out you were a keen lover of equines or something haha. Still i see what you mean about them only using it for tagging and listing. If no one else does it though, why should you? It is much appreciated that you do what you do, dont get me wrong, i just want to make sure you dont lose the joy because you wind up working on things you dont have interest in, turning it into a job instead of a hobby.

I don't mind. It's neither a job nor a hobby. more like an addiction for organizing. lol

but yeah, for the most part, I stick to most POPULAR releases, as determined by gamespot. A few rare exceptions I've made (horse, diego, dora) mostly for titles my kids might like.

but no, you wont find ALL releases. believe me, the lists look big, but its probably only 40% of ALL titles being released each month. yes, there is that much crap out there.

big updates across the lists, mostly for long-range upcoming titles....

- STARCRAFT II for PC!!! my heart missed a few beats when I saw that we might have it in 2008

- Alan Wake for PC & X360 (PS3 version got canceled)

- Fallout 3!!! (PC, PS3, X360) my god, 2008 will be a legendary year for releases

- Fable 2 for X360

- Resident Evil 5 (X360, PS3) - early 2009, but still added it to the lists

- Protoype for X360, PS3, PC

- Too Human for X360

- missed the new Warhammer: Soulstorm (amazon had it misspelled) - released on PC March 4th, but added it anyways

- SoulCalibur IV for PS3 and X360

if there's any other MAJOR games coming out in late 2008 or even early 2009, let me know. As long as it has an amazon entry, I'll add it to this list
