Tom, thanks! It's simple and flashy and I've been waiting for something like this for a while. Of course I've already added it to my MySpace profile. I only have a few suggestions I thought I'd throw out there:
01. Ability to generate widgets for our custom lists. I keep a list of my favorite albums in my collection so a widget for something like that would be very useful.
02. Ability to customize widget. Altering colors, movie speed, etc.
03. A more simple "list type" widget. Something graphical but simple that could list the latest albums added to the collection. I like the list format too for displaying collections.
But don't think I'm complaining. I think this new widget is fantastic. You're making some great updates.
Update: When I copied the code to my MySpace profile I notice that the "View my Listal Profile" link didn't generate correctly. The URL is missing the username. Is it supposed to be like that for us to edit?

03. Do you mean something like this (Seth's Books) that appears on a lot of blogs or something different? I am planning a javascript version for this kind of thing.

When I thought about suggestion 02 for a while It really seemed kinda useless anyway. There are plenty of other features I'd rather see.
03. That is a perfect example of what I was talking about. Another is Last.fm's widget that produces a small customizable list of things like "Most Played Tracks". I like that book example though.

18 years, 9 months ago at Jul 27 2:03 - You might consider tagging the stuff in the custom list and generating the widget from that list. As a kludge until the widget generation appears for custom lists. I just tried it for my wu xia (I'll be glad to see image replacement working) tag and it works fine.

18 years, 9 months ago at Jul 29 3:09 - I threw together a (very) simple javascript script to randomly display dvd pages, but I can't display the code here because certain tags/script are sensibly filtered out. If anyone's interested mail me and I'll send the code (it can be easily altered for music, books, etc...).
Can rig up something similar to go thru tags randomly or maybe in order, but it would be more complicated and hardly anyone bothers with tags.
