The orphanage is pretty good, made me jump once or twice. I enjoyed it for what it was.

Visual part was great, too bad it tried to disguise quite awful plot. Bunch of cliches.

High tension was also a good one, as well as anything by Aja. The French era now is much like that of the 80's Italian era, awesome and just continuing to pop out and surprise and entertain it's viewers. In fact, besides only a handfull of newer films, European horror is the only new desent horror films out there being made recently.

Let The Right One In
Subverting and yet continuing the vampire mythologies today is hard as hell, Yet with this film it is achieved with distinction and clarity, Whilst diverting from the book will upset the purists, What has been achieved is nothing short of remarkable, The casting is mainly the reason with both Oskar & Eli portrayed flawlessly by Kare Hedebrant & Lina Leandersson respectively.
At once terrifying yet frail and tender, Eli gives the world a new vampire mythology to witness.
What happens if a vampire enters uninvited is explored with horrible consequences for Eli, And how Eli forces Oskar to stand up for himself backfires completely, leading to a literally breathtaking sequence demanding repeat viewings.
Best vampire film ever?
Possibly
Best horror film of the 00's?
In my opinion that is without doubt true.
