I have never liked the fact that your top lose navigation when you click on someones profile and this seems non-standard as far as social networking sites go.

I am thinking about changing that and having subtabs link to parts of their collection. Good idea?

You didn't put this in the development group, so I didn't see it till now. You've already implemented this, right? Seems fine to me the way you've done it, to me, though it looks like they're just links, not tabs...
