9 years, 5 months ago at Nov 12 23:58 - So I see that Movies and TV Shows are only approved as choices when making a new entry when entering IMDB links. The problem with this is that entries get disjointed. Take Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex which has both season being in one entry thanks to IMDB but Code Geass, Aria and School Rumble being able to have their seasons as separate entries thanks to IMDB having them separate. This makes no sense considering that the latter mentioned series sequels have the same amount of continuity and connectivity as the Ghost in the Shell one. IMDB are very disjointed not only in certain entries especially with Anime and the amount of process it takes to actually try and fix these things which is nearly impossible. I would preferably like to be able to use different sites like MyAnimelist, AniDB, Hummingbird, Trakt, Letterboxd etc to list TV Shows and Movies. You are limiting your universal aspect by not allowing this to happen already like your other categories. Even if there are duplicates, we can simply rename the duplicates to "Duplicate". You should also remove the IMDB scores on entries since it's irrelevant to this site since you don't need outside ratings when you generate your own on the site itself.

Anyway, I second Listal's choice to only allow Movies and TV shows from IMDb links, because that's a huge database with cast and crew data and all.
Besides, I wouldn't like lots of duplicates on Listal, such a mess!
Also, IMDb ratings are an interesting piece of information to show on a movie's page, in my view.

Many people on Listal rate things only for points (a good reason why points for rating items is a rather silly concept), and are not actually rating based on merit, so imdb perhaps offers a better representation of general opinion.
Like The O.P., I don't want to see a huge number of duplicates. There is enough of an issue with those already in galleries... we don't need them in other areas of the site. A lot of people are to lazy to check, and we would end up with a complete bombsite... no thanks. Imdb is perhaps the best resource for such things, so I see no reason to muddy the waters by giving idiots more things to screw up.

9 years, 5 months ago at Nov 17 23:08 - I realize I created this before but I thought I would make it again with some added info the old one didn't have. I don't see duplicates as a problem really since they are easily fixable.
IMDB ratings are not far from the proximity of what this site rates most things so it's still not necessary regardless of how people here use the rating system here.
