Movie Summaries

Any chance that summaries or descriptions of the movies (which are IMDB fields) can be included on the movie page and widgets?

There is already a description area on every movie's page which is editable by all, but I think you're referring to a more in-depth run through of each movie's plot?

EDIT: As for the other thing, this design for two widgets I created gives both the item and the list note... I'm sure you could include the descriptions into your notes for each item.

And if you have any ideas for widgets that would better suit your needs, try to make some of your own! They don't have to be great art; my widgets are a testament to that.

The problem is that you could run into violating copy write laws. If you look at most the the descriptions from IMDB (beyond the one line blurb) you will see an author noted. That author has posted that description for IMDB usage based on terms of service.

I use AllMovie guide quite often but I'm pretty careful to not use them all the time and try to compile with their standards of usage. Even then it is me who is engaging in that activity and not Tom. Which legally is a HUGE difference.

I know that Listal uses IMDB and Amazon as a reference but to fully use the written text of a site might run into a gray area.

But again... I'm not a lawyer, nor a manager and tend stick with knowing what text that I can electronically reproduce.

Yes Jay had it pretty much right why I don't take the descriptions from imdb. I take the amazon descriptions for other areas as they provide that in their product API's, so it's ok to use.
