14 years, 7 months ago at Oct 8 16:31 - A while back I had heard about someone who had edited Spielberg's Artificial Intelligence: AI (2001) from its never ending 146 minutes down to 114 minutes, posted it online and apparently it was a vast improvement over the actual movie. I've always wanted to see it but have never been able to find it. But I wonder if this was the version Kubrick would have made?
I've always loved the first half of The Black Stallion (1979) with the shipwreck and the boy and the horse alone on the deserted island, then the boy and the horse are rescued. But then it ends up on a Southern Ontario farm with Mickey Rooney??? What happens in the second half of the sequel The Black Stallion Returns (1983), with the boy travelling to the Arab country to rescue his horse is what should have happened in the second half of the first movie. If only someone could take the first half of Black Stallion and then merge it with the second half of Black Stallion Returns, you'd have a heck of a movie!! Of course you'd have to explain how Kelly Reno ages 4 years in a span of a few days or weeks.
Anyone else have any other editing ideas that would improve some famous or near perfect movies? Oh and where can I find that edited version of AI?
