Moved the make primary link

I've moved the make primary link to the bottom of the view image page. I think for a function that is not used that often it's not necessary to have 100 links when you are browsing images.

Also removed the delete image link for the same reason.

Opinions?

At first, I was thinking it was a little inconvenient...but actually, I think this is better. It makes the thumbnail pages cleaner and has the added benefit of making it easier to mark an image as primary that you've run across in a list, since now you don't have to find the corresponding thumbnail.

The change makes sense. By the time you've gotten more than 10 images there should be a decent primary image choice.

I don't like it at all. It's turned something that was very convenient into a nuisance now. Well... that's my opinion at least.

I agree with Gauntlet. Of all the things you could've changed you chose that!

While you're fiddling with that page, could you increase the number of images we can see per page? The option for 200+ would be nice.

I don't see why it needs to be that convenient though, all those links looked messy for actions you don't do very often and also easy to click by mistake.

I think it would be quite heavy on the server to load such a large number of images on one page.

The problem is, 98% of the people who decide to upload a picture always want to make their most recent picture the primary photo. For example, Drago always posts DVD covers as the primary photo in the movies section instead of the DVD section. The consensus in the past was that posters should be the primary photo for movies and DVD covers for DVDs. A guy like Drago posts hundreds of pictures a day, so hundreds of primary photos need to be reverted back to the movie poster each day. With this new system it's pure chaos.

I don't really understand how that relates to the new changes.

For example, Drago always posts DVD covers as the primary photo in the movies section instead of the DVD section.

If someone it setting the wrong image to primary then that's a separate issue and needs to be sorted out some way, the method of setting the primary image is pretty irrelevant.

The problem is, 98% of the people who decide to upload a picture always want to make their most recent picture the primary photo.

The new changes make actually make it less obvious and more difficult to change the primary image, so I would have thought this would happen less often.

I've just looked up drago's profile and he hasn't been been on the site in months! If this is the guy you mean dragomedved.listal.com/

Maybe this is related. When I upload pictures now, sometimes they're set to the Primary image automatically even if there was already a Primary image. And they're Primary for everyone--not just me. This is very destructive, as screenshots can now become the Primary image when there was a perfectly good poster already set as the Primary. Here is an example page where it happened:

They are only set to primary if there is no existing images uploaded to Listal. Generally this is helpful as people want to replace the default posters from amazon. Looks like in that case it was not the right thing to do, there could probably be better messages to alert you that you have changed the primary images to avoid mistakes.

At the moment there is no way of setting the amazon image as primary I will fix that in the future.

What if there was a small favicon sized button on the view all images screen under each image instead of the original 'make image primary' text?

Also, if you keep it like this could you move the make image primary to the right, under or around the Vote button? All interactions are left on the right hand side then. Also x2 I think instead of a text link, it should be a button so it appears a bit more obvious.

And nice work on making the top left image link directly to the primary image instead of back to the item's profile!
