The thing is up there, i remeber the part when norris and bliar became absurdly scarry aliens and ultraviolence made itself present on my TV screen. i was ACTUALLY horrified of the Ring when i saw it in theatres, not sure why, but my experience was great and worth the ticket price.

The Ring frightened the bejeezus out of me too when I saw it in the theatre! I swear I jumped about 3 rows back. The super-scary guy behind the diner in Mulholland Drive scared the pants off me too! But all in all I'd have to say that Martyrs frightened me and just in general fucked up my world more than any other single film.

Idiocracy did with its frighteningly realistic portrayal of the future.

Commando. When his daughter is kidnapped. I have never seen such a touching and sincere bond between on-screen father and daughter, and then some slime from a banana republic shows up and breaks them apart? We truly do live in a terrifying world when the bonds of love can be disrupted by a drug lord with a bullpup.

I'm a truly fan of horror and it's hard to tell just few movies, cause really, a lot of them scared me when I was younger. I guess my biggest nightmares came from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". I'm serious, that witch scared me to death!
But after I was older I can tell you about The Blair Witch Project, The Exorcist, The Sixth Sense and Shutter (the original and not that awful american remake).
Like I said there are a lot of more, but these are the ones I can remember right now :)

I love horror movies so now it's hard for me to find one that I can really get under my skin. Most recently though, "Insidious" got to me.

"Funny Games" is about as unsettling as a film can get

not a movie as such but i saw this exhibition in London about the brain and some videos showed real brain surgery - even as a generally hardcore horror fan it was too much

First time I watched "Shutter Island", it was a silent and dark night, and I was home alone. Brrrr!
But nothing, and I say nothing -not any other horror movie, or violent movie, or thriller- has ever upset me more than "The Fly", by David Cronenberg.

Seven. Maybe in more of the psychological horror part of it but still gives me goosebumps.

The works of Tarkovsky, while having nothing to do with horror, always bear something genuinely creepy. "Solaris" inparticular is creepy as hell
