Michael Jackson is dead

It is so sad to hear that he is dead from suffering of cardiac arrest at age of 50 BUT good news because MJ changed our world and our music too. We will NEVER forget him, he will be in our hearts forever!

I noticed something amazing on the radio today.

Whenever they played a song that wasn't by Michael Jackson, I realised it was by someone who should have died instead of him.

RIP Michael Jackson.

Despite the controversy surrounding his personal life he was & will be remembered as a musical genius & one of the if not THE contemporary cultural icon of the modern era. His legacy will live on his music.

Personally I like some of his stuuf, mainly Off The Wall & Thriller, not too keen on on his later stuff BUT notwithstanding my personal preferences you have to accept the talent, charisma & sheer showmanship of the man. To say he was talented is an understatement.

A few words on the allegations that blighted Jackson's personal life. If I was the parent of a child that had allegedly been abused by someone there is no way I would accept a multi-million dollar out of court settlement. I would want justice & to see the perpetrator in prison. The settlements say more about the accusers than the accused.

Michael Jackson despite his success & wealth was a vunerabale individual. He had a difficult childhood, he was abused physically & mentally by his father & indeed it could be argued he had NO childhood. He was thrust into the commercial world of music production from a very very early age. He was world famous at the age of five for chrissake!

Clearly this has had quite a significant effect on his mental health that carried over into his adult life. I think Miachael Jackson was manipulated by lots of people throughout his life for their own ends & the only way he could escape was to use the wealth he accumulated to escape into a fantasy life where he could try & be the person HE wanted to be.

His life was one of stark contarsts. Vast almost unimaginable wealth counterposed with deep personal sadness & loneliness.

Now he's passed away at last he'll he'll find some peace.

well nobody really knows if he evn died frm a heart attack...
theres plenty rumors but util we know the tuth of what really happn to hym thn mayb he will rest in peace with happyness..

Gemlil, anyone who blindly accepts he isn't a paedo when he paid a kids family 18 million dollars in hush money is a dick more like!! What reason do you have for thinking he is innocent? "He makes good music!" Thats all, you like him so you side with him. I know he was found innocent the second time, when the kid probably made it up to try and get some money out of him but the first time is the one that sticks in the throat for me. I don't know either way, but I am damn well fed up of moronic fans going on about how he MUST be innocent when their only reason for feeling so is their deluded fanboy opinions.

What doesn't add up is:

If he didn't do it, why pay the 18 million?
If he just wanted to avoid the courts why not offer less?
Why avoid the courts when he would be found not guilty and be seen as a victim?
Why all the controversy and admission from himself that he shares a bed with kids etc?
Why haven't we heard anything from the family since about it? (Hushed thats why!)
Why did he become such a recluse etc? Guilt perhaps?

I don't really care either way, it doesn't make his music shit, as a musician he is a legend, but it does my God damned head in that people can become so fucking gay about it all when they are just looking at it through rose tinted glasses refusing to accept the evidence in front of their eyes!!

What makes it worse is people bandwagon jumping when they showed no more than a general like of MJ's music before his death and have never been known or expressed themselves as a massive fan of his.

Also, if it doesn't matter that he is a paedo, then why the fuck does Gary Glitter get such a hard time? Might as well say its ok to molest kids if you also write legendary music, Elton John will have a freaking field day down at his local primary school!

I think it's a massive shame that he has died. I grew up with his tunes forming the basis of a massive part of my childhood. Not only did I get visits from truancy officers when I was bunking off school so often to play and watch Moonwalker, but me and my neighbours practised his dance routines for hours on end and even performed concerts to invisible audiences. I'm not ashamed to admit it!

MJ didn't spawn shitty pop boy bands. He is labelled the king of pop because he is the best of the bunch. He had an immediately distinguishable voice, awesome songs and inspirational dance moves. He was a complete showman. Boy bands have tried to emulate him with choreographed dances, but Jackson's talent wasn't forced, it was innate. That's why nobody will shed a tear when Britney or JT dies. On the contrary I think his music was inspiring and puts most modern pop to shame.

No offence Cy Cy, but you're only 14. That means you were born during his decline, and his music was well out of the public eye by the time you'd have been old enough to appreciate it. I don't see how you could be as traumatically upset as you're making out.

I am glad he is dead

That just breaks my heart about Farrah. I saw a documentary not very long ago about her trying to find treatment. She truly was an angel. I feel sorry for her family to have lost her.
I don't know what to say about Michael Jackson. I'm sorry for his family's loss.

Hey, I don't hate him at all! I'm not glad he is dead, I actually find it a shame and sad to a point. The thing I hate, and which is really winding me up is the people who are going miles beyond the point of reasonable grief. Perfect example in this thread being Cy Cy who has absolutely no chance of being as effected by this death as they are claiming to be. Even Uri Gellar fucked me off, "I was Michaels best friend!!" 20 minutes after he is declared dead. Sky News are asking him questions "When was the last time you saw Michael?" Uris response "I have no comment to make on that" "What would you say about his state of mind" Uri gives an equally clueless response. I mean come on?! He's barely cold and the guy is out there in the spot light lapping it up. Everyone feels the need to try and display the most upset image of themselves possible, trying to be philosophical about why a man who was pushing himself to hard to perform to the expectation of his fans that he died, (assuming the reports in the news are right) is dead.

In response to Chani - if the family who first accused him had decided to go to court and were facing MJ being found guilty and them receiving a nominal fee, say 1 million compensation maximum and him spend his life in prison disgraced VS 18-20 million and they have to keep their mouths shut they might of chosen cash over their principles, everyone has a price, and it would answer why they got 18 million and not far less...

Again I don't really care wether he was/wasn't a pedophile, I am not going to hang him out to dry like Prelude and just presume the worst of people. But I am also not going to blindly believe he is innocent, call anyone who suggests otherwise a dick, like Gemlil, and bury my head in the sand pretending it never came up. He might of been a pedophile and the only reason we don't know either way is because cash was given to make the whole mess go away. I am willing to believe the 2nd court case only happened because the 2nd family believed they could get an easy pay off after the way the 1st accusation went, but the original child and the original situation is the one in question in my mind and the one we will never likely know about.

I can't understand why people find it hard to accept that the family would have kept quiet about their child being molested because they were given 18-20 million dollars. Obviously they would have said something along the lines of "we'll give you 10 million to stop your accusation and to never mention it again" and then they would of just demanded more until they reached a satisfactory amount. If it had gone to court they likely would have gotten very little in comparison to the money they got, and he would of only got maybe a decade in prison etc? They get more out of it by taking the millions than him going to prison.

Thats what I make out of it anyway, if he was 100% innocent and all the tests they could do would have shown it then he would have just let them do the tests and stuck two fingers up at the family for trying to fraud him. No one pays out that much money for a lie!!
