Merge?

I'm wanting to know if it's possible to merge two musicians, in order to maintain accuracy and consistency. For example, my current issue is that I'm wanting to merge the band name "Siouxsie & The Banshees" with "Siouxsie And The Banshees" (eliminating the '&'). Also 'Siouxsie Sioux' and 'Siouxsie' could also be merged.

What can I do to clean all this up? Any help is much appreciated.

I think the only way of doing it is to go through all the albums for the artist with the incorrect name, click edit, then correct the name.

It would be awesome if this could be done by administrators... take a look at: www.listal.com/authors/search/tolkien.. there are 20 entries for J.R.R. Tolkien!

After editing an author to make it have the right capitalization, i ended up with a duplicated entry: www.listal.com/authors/search/di%20renzo

We could help with this if there's some way of reporting duplicated entries... For example: "Yimou Zhang" and "Zhang Yimou"

Another related "problem" is that people is considered to be different if they are actors and authors, for example:

www.listal.com/author/mario-pergolini
and
www.listal.com/person/mario-pergolini

Are the same person...
