Hi people,
I just wanted to share this thought of mine.
In the past I used several software programs and online databases to keep track of my movies and DVDs, but at the end of the day I always was unhappy for some reason. I am not saying they are bad, but I realized they were not what I was looking for.
Now I'm glad I've found Listal, as it focuses on what I care about rather than on other details. It's simple to use yet very powerful. OK, I'll be brief and shut up, as you probably already know that better than I do. :)

i feel same wit u, on my blog i always create many list about my fav playstation games. Kinda hard because i should arrange the cd's cover. But with listal the problem is solved. I can configure it with what ever i may think. I love the wiki style for create my new fav thing, really helpful.

Yeah, listal is pretty awesome. I have been around for more than 2 years now and, in my opinion, it is the very best thing on the internet. Combined with IMDB (I'm mostly interested in movies), it is just unbeatable. I have to warn you though... It is incredibly addictive. Fortunately, it is now blocked at my work because I was pretty obsessed at some point. I still love this place and come everyday to update my stuff.

Thanks for the heads up, Johan! Yes, I noticed Listal can be incredibly addictive :)
Anyway, compared to other tools, at least it allows us to express our tastes and experiences in a creative, efficient way, by using existing databases and then building on them, rather than trying to create just another database like other tools do, or trying to record lots of minor details which I personally don't care much about. ;)

I actually found Listal while searching online for a place to keep track of my movies and books. At first, I considered software programs, but they didn't seem right for me. Listal is exactly what I was looking for and it's free! :)

I stumbled on Listal after Guzzlefish.com closed. Guzzlefish basically tracked all of media and told you how much, hypothetically, it is worth. And also had what studios you may have more of, or directors, etc. I was looking for more of the same and my search results lead me to Listal. I love the group and the general kindness of the users that I have had interactions with. I have been here for probably three years. It can get very addictive at times.

I am also delighted listal.com. The site gives a lot of opportunities, not only in film, but the music, which is very important to me. Interesting is also the fact that you can all their own profile through the edit and create lists to make a very personal place. I'm also a user of Polish film service filmweb.pl. Filmweb is the second largest (after IMDB.com) online database of information related to movies, actors and television series. But... This is the only website on the film, you can instantly evaluate the films, actors, directors, talk, but something is missing there, which I found here.
