Lists promotion

How many votes do the lists need to get promoted now??.
I remember the time when it was 2, then 7, 12, 17, etc.

Does it really matter?

No mystery in achievement anymore. It'll get promoted when it is popular enough.

How could it not to be important?
It's something that should be well known by everybody.
Considering that people expect to see their lists promoted, there should be firm rules about that.

The problem with having set totals stated like that is that when people sign up with multiple accounts (Alts), they can just vote themselves to the front page.

Ok. I agree with that. I just was upset because i thought some of my list were about to get promoted, but then I realize the number of votes needed changed again. But I'll get use to it before it get changed again.

It seems you are both wrong: it is neither 17, nor "popular"

For example, the recently promoted My fav Asian actors & actresses got 7 votes overall and only 1 (one) recent. The rest are more than 9 months old.

If you look at "recently promoted images", it is the same picture. Furthermore, the "top promoted" do not reflect number of votes either - I just posted one exmple ina separate thread.

My take is that promotions are quite random. Or they are promoted at the whim of the moderators. I am optimist and prefer the 1st explanation. Which one do you prefer?

I would rather people not think about promotion numbers too much, they will also be changing frequently as the amount of voting increases (as it has recently)
