Lists of animals

So I just tried out the animal category. As I see it, the only method to use it is adding (uncategorized) images to the list and saying that these are animal photos. There is no way to add an item (e.g. the magpie) and then add that to a list.

Is that the way it is supposed to work or is this still under construction?

Also, I'd prefer to have this category titled "nature" so that it would include plants as well.
