There might be some confusion about what you are suggesting.
There is already a widget function for all lists. You can post these widgets anywhere were widgets are allowed.

The widgets will use the primary image (example "A") but there is not a widget that will use your custom image (example "B").



Widgets with your very own custom images is something that falls more under what a 'photo sharing site' would offer.

i make an example:
i'm creating a list of italian dubbers:

this is a simple list of images i would like to add widgets, but every widget is a further list of images as this:
www.listal.com/list/massimo-de-ambrosis-dubbed
(i filled my stuff list with these, as you can see:
lazward.listal.com/lists )
i prefer to clear all these useless lists that i made only for create widgets to add in the other list...

then:
i think that, instead to create a widget trough an images'list is better(in this case) to create directly a widget(as in mixpod: i choose a widget, i make a playlist searching and adding songs and later i add it elsewhere, without create a list before)

if you already know a method to create a widget without list, please tell me how XD

i think it's possible to do it manually but it takes too time.
it's better with an automatic code, that i can't make XP

Even with custom widgets they are pulling information from some place. Usually this is from an "rss feed". So, you would still be stuck creating a list, photo stream or some type of holding area for each widget.

You might find something useful on the sites I listed or someone else might have some wonderfully clever idea. My experience with widgets is pretty limited.

Still, I really like what you have done with creating lists just for widgets and think that is a good approach. It looks like widgets will still work if a list is set 'private' so that might help with sorting through your lists.

But no, I'm not aware of any widget that works without some type of list or information feed.

Thanks for your help, but i think it's better if one of listal's manager creates a plugin on purpose:
do it manually with a widget from another site takes too time XP.
for now i do as you said setting lists as private,
although i've been considering to exploit these lists in excess, doing as in this:

but the problem is the same, do it manually or creating other cumulative lists XD
