JG Ballard

Hello, all! Been away from here awhile, so thought I'd pop in and say hi :-)
I've recently finished a book of short stories by JG Ballard, which I enjoyed enormously. I can't believe I've only just found him! Anyway, I want to read more of his stuff, so: any suggestions...? I already have The Crystal World yet to read, already been recommended The Drowned World, and High Rise sounds particularly interesting. Also, why not recommend good film adaptations, too?

I wasn't after a list, but, as it happens, there are some on there I didn't know about, so it has been of some use :-)
Primarily, though, I'm after recommendations from anyone who's read his stuff.

Oh, sorry then, didn't read your post quite well then.

No, it's OK :-) As I said, there are a few on that list I hadn't heard of, so that's all good!

The only one of his works I've read is Crash. It almost disturbed me as much as American Psycho but a memorable read.

I think there are at least two film versions of Crash, aren't there?
And, getting back to that list for a moment, is The Wind From Nowhere actually available? I do know that the author has since disowned that one.

I believe there is only one film adaptation of the Crash, made in 1996. The more recent Crash film is not based on the novel.

Aaah, seems I got my wires crossed on that one, then.

Yep, seems you really did.

Yes, thanks for that riveting insight...
Come on the rest of you, I need your help! Or, at least, want your opinions!

His books are mostly worth reading. I found Super Cannes and Millenium People particularly interesting. Also worth a look is Empire of the Sun which was his most mainstream work but revealed the sources of many of his subsequent obsessions. He gave many interesting interviews over the years as well which are often on the internet now.
I don't know much about films. The BBC did an adaptation of one of his stories entitled Home which wasn't bad. There's also the film of Empire of the Sun, rated by Ballard himself though I preferred the book.
