Importing from iTunes...

I think you should be able to import your music collection from iTunes. I have thousands of CDs, but don't want to manually add them. Will this feature be added?

It difficult because iTunes probably doesn't store anything i can uniquely match against e.g. UPC. Title match may work but this is unreliable, may take quite a bit of work.

I am hoping once i release an api people will be able to write importers for different applications.

I was going to add a suggestion to allow importing text files of collections, but I saw this thread and an API would be even better. I think Listal could be Del.icio.us Monster, but I'm not going to use it much until there is an easier way to input my thousands of pieces of media. I only want to have to digitize my catalog once and I want it to be as easy as possible, so I'll wait until I have some platform-specific tools. Listal should be about aggregating and sharing those catalogs and with an API available, you'll be headed in the right direction.

I'm looking forward to Listal's development.

There is already a site called www.musicmobs.com where you can upload your itunes .xml library file and it will show all kids of stats and statistics. So yes, it can be done.
