Image Upload Issues

Here we are again with images not uploading properly, little image icon thingy. It started last night but I thought I'd leave it to sort overnight, it's usually fixed pretty quickly. I've flushed my browser, no joy. My wife has the same problem, and according to the update feed, others are having similar issues. Oddly, nobody seems to have raised the issue here though.

Anyway, there it is... problems at Planet Listal again.

Same here! Specifically; my new list will display the thumbnails (small pictures) but when you click on said thumbnail it to make it full size you get a broken link symbol.

Seems like the server has been nudged, hopefully the gremlins have been zapped between the eyeholes.

Still a problem on my end. I pulled the list until something is fixed. Leaving it public would be useless since most of the pictures cannot be opened and viewed.

Deleted all of the pictures in the list (from the site) and reloaded them. When I checked them they all opened. Next I loaded them into the list, all seemed fine so I added a few comments and put the list public. When I looked at it, half of the pictures had fractured thumbnail images.

Pulled the list (private) again.

Really? REALLY??

One last thing, I changed it to a 2 column list and everything is working again. It can't be just me, no matter what Jack says.

List is public again.

The problem seems to have returned, new images not going in.

I uploaded around 70 images 3 hrs ago all worked fine for me but i have noticed that when opening a picture list sometimes images wont load and all it shows is the broken thumbnail

The images should be starting to return now, sorry for the problems.

Some images are still missing in lists, and now the place seems to have slowed to a crawl, did you switch to delivery by Royal Mail? ;) The speed issue is especially apparent in galleries or searching in lists.

Yeah i'm still having a problem with some pictures not loading in lists

Loading times are pretty ridiculous just now. Is it just me or have there been more performance issues since the introduction of the machine-gun style upload function?

On the plus side, and thanks are due... when was the last time anyone saw spam? So thanks for that.

Sorry to tell you but the image problem has just popped up again!!!

lol up was right in the middle of uploading some images now i have to wait hopefully it doesnt take too long

Every week more like every couple days we have these problems

Anyways it looks like its back up but who knows for how long so if your uploading pics id do it now

I will be getting another image server to reduce the load on the main one so things should improve.

Try adding from the main page: www.listal.com/music/quantos-possunt-ad-satanitatem-trahunt . I think there might be a bug for items with no images added yet.

Do you have any idea when the new server will be coming online, the site is pretty much at a crawl just now.

There have been plenty of weekends in recent times when the problems have either not been there or have been barely evident. While the weekend issue did used to be a total pain in the chocolate box, things improved greatly for quite a time. It is only recently that things have gotten pretty ridiculous again. This thread was started on a Thursday, so that pretty much eliminates the idea of it being a weekend only thing. The weekend may exacerbate any issue, but the underlying problems need to be looked into. I'm guessing that a lot of new users who come to a site that can take minutes to load a page of images simply look elsewhere, and I can understand that, but to those of us who invest many hours a day, it's not quite as easy to walk away.

I can't see any problems with the images right now or any other time I have checked today so I guess it was a temporary issue that happened 3 hours ago. The new server is now up but is being tested with a small percentage of image requests that will be increased over the next week, hopefully things should improve when that is fully running.

While the whole site is dragging in terms of loading and viewing, viewing and voting for pictures is downright painful.

This has been happening again- yesterday and this morning. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? When I upload photos all that shows up is the broken image thumbnail.
