I'm addicted to listal.

I think it's becoming a real problem. Its gotten to the point where my mom will see I've been on the computer a while and say, "making a list?"

I spend more time on here than on Facebook. Is it common for a teenager like myself to be bored with a site that showcases the lives of my peers? I don't think so...

Anyway, I wanted to post this to say that I LOVE LISTAL. So far, my short time as a member has been really fun! I plan to keep making lists. :)

Hmm... Is it common? Depends on who you ask. Is it rare? Also depends on who you ask. Does it occur frequently? Uhm... Nevermind - I covered that with "Is it common?"

Now the real question is "Will Spongebob ever get his driver's license?" I've spent many sleepless nights agonizing over that one.

Facebook seems to appeal to a demographic that's less emo and pedophiliac than, say MySpace, so that's good. I just don't use it that much because I'm not apart of a huge friend circle at school (college starts soon; maybe that'll change) and that's the type of Facebook user that appears to keep him- or herself busiest. If I want to communicate with other people online, I'd rather stick with a site that actually focuses on a theme (video games, for instance) or has a system in place that allows the community to really connect. In my English class last year, it was the beginning of the first semester and we were supposed to present about ourselves. I told everyone that I was a user of Listal and explained that it's a Web 2.0 site like Facebook except that there's actually something to do. They all laughed, every one of them huge Facebook users.

Actually, facebook helps friends and families who don't live near each other in touch. I have tons on family that live all over the US and never get to see them. We use facebook often to keep in touch. Heck, I have family and friends in town that I hardly ever get to see, yet we use facebook to keep in touch. And with some of my family, we are using it to get to know each other better.

While I like listal, how much more productive is it to make lists of actors that you hate, actresses you think are ugly or bands you think are great?

2. I definitely agree with Pumpkinate. To me, Facebook is just so damned boring. It's all about the social contacts and I'm antisocial like hell. Listal is about showing what you love (or hate, though I´m not really a hater) and being creative about it. I have seen so much creativity here whereas I have never seen anything remotily creative in Facebook, sorry.

And indeed, making lists is not productive but it's about being creative and just having some fun. To me, Facebook is just a new way to communicate with one and another, like a phone (and I hate phones). Doesn't really sound productive either but I think none of those websites are meant to be productive. It's just to kill some time.

Facebook sucks anymore, more so recently now with the "new" Facebook. The only reason I use it now is for work and thats it.

One thing with Listal as a whole I like the site a lot I do wish the forums were a bit more active.

1)I agree with tommyv, I wish the forum were more active too, Listal is a great site, really glad I found it, addicted? alittle! I do find myself thinking of list on the way to and from work.

I only use facebook as to keep up with family and friends nowadays.

I like this site too. I like that it has less drama than IMDB.

I am addicted to Listal, but it doesn't have the hold on me that it used to. I'm become far less creative and move focused on keeping the reported image numbers down, whilst cleaning up this site. As a result I often miss many new lists that I would have previously voted for. :(

That said, I also have kids and family spread around the world, so I always use Facebook first to check updates, upload photos of the boys and then (lazy) use facebook to log into Listal.

Wait do you have kids or family spread around the world??? How many kids you have?

As with you it is hard to find time to dedicate to making lists and such. I usually check in during the day just to see whats going on.

Since I have already made 350 (!) lists, I decided better to stop making more... Only to keep them up to date, it is already a lot of work. I still have like 5 or 6 different lists idea but I try to stay strong. I actually gave in a few weeks ago ( www.listal.com/list/battle-snow-whites )... There is so much creative potential here!

So, I'm still pretty addicted...

In comparison, Listal is full of people who like movies and TV and books as much as I do, while Facebook is a place I can keep track of what my family is planning and contact friends if I don't have their phone numbers.

Naturally, this means I spend a lot more time on Listal.
