If you watch a movie backwards

If you watch the movie "Cloverfield" backwards, it's about a monster created by the US Airforce who runs around New York fixing everything, until it goes for a swim, and then everyone has a party and goes to bed.
Pinnochio - It's about a boy who becomes a puppet.
If you watch Godzilla (1998) backwards its about a giant lizard who's only passion in life is to rebuild a semi-destroyed city. Content with his work, he then moonwalks into the ocean. The movie ends peacefully with an old guy fishing on a pier.
If you watch Friday the 13th backwards, its about a nice man who reattaches limbs and other body parts to teenagers so they can go to summer camp.
If you watch the movie "Alien" backwards, it's about a monster that shrinks and climbs into a guy's chest calming a panicking crew.
If you watch Terminator 2 backwards it's about this pool of molten steel that creates two robots who must try and repair each other so they can get naked and go back to the future.
If you watch Star Wars backwards, it's about this guy who knows this chick is his sister, but wants to do her anyway.
The Fly - It's about a man, who cures himself from being a fly.
If you watch Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade backwards, it's about a guy in a hat who drinks from the Holy Grail so he can go drop his dad off with the Nazis and have an adventure vacation in Europe before he time travels to 1912 to deliver an old golden cross back its cave in Utah.
Matrix backwards is about a guy who lives in a really shitty world but realises there is a much better virtual reality world and spends the rest of the movie trying to get there.

You've opened up a new world of movie possibilities! I will certainly try to!

If you play Saving Private Ryan backwards it turns into a film about the Dunkirk evacuation.

How would you even know that when there's no historical overview in the beginning of the movie anyway? When the movie starts D-day just happens, without ever explaining why or how.

If you play Planes, Train and Automobiles backwards you get a pair of inseperable buddies whose fortunes gradually make them strangers to one another.

I think the whole world already knows how D-Day came about, mate.

In fact Spielberg misrepresents all of the soldiers motives for fighting the war. All of them say they are fighting just to get back home when in fact the majority of them were fighting to kill Adolph Hitler and fully believed that a world without Nazis was worth dying for.

Here's one... if you play W. backwards you see the President of the United States lose his presidency and ends up going back to live with his parents and becomes an alcoholic.

In fact, Stone misrepresents the president of the united states. All he does is make gaffes and get manipulated when actually he believed in making the world a better place.

Well I know that JFK and Nixon were basically works of fiction, but I have yet to find out how true W. is after having just seen it.

If this thread topic were a list, I'd totally vote for it. :)

Agree & gets my vote too!
"The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button" is about a young man who grows old and his preference for a younger woman as he gets older.
Hmm that's a more common story!

I am glad this is picking up well, I thought some people would think it was stupid.

XD this is awesome, im gonna watch movies backwards.

I don't think it's stupid at all, but what about watching Memento backwards?

The Poseidon Adventure... a small group of people encounter a sinking vessel in the middle of the sea and board it. Once aboard they find others along the way to join them for the big party in the main hall of the ship. Then the ship takes them all home (presumably) and everybody lives happily ever after. And nevermind the silly remake.

King Kong... a giant ape from New York City (probably living in the Bronx) climbs the Empire State Building for one last view of home. Then he is captured and put on display for the media before being taken on a ship to a remote jungle where he is worshipped and feared by the local tribes people, but also keeps those pesky dinosaurs away.

If only the Cinema experience could be that way.
Go to the movies, have all trace of 'War of The Worlds' removed from my memory, then be given money to go home happy!

I don't understand how in the new War of The Worlds we see that river of floating dead people when earlier in the movie we clearly see how the alien ships kill people, by disintegrating them. So how did all these people in the water die?? Obviously it was just done for dramatic or horrific effect.

Attention: SPOILERS!
If you watch collateral backwards it is about Tom Cruise driving aroung L.A. in a taxi in order to reanimate several people that just happen to be dead. In the end he quits and passes on his instruments to Jason Statham.
If you watch Crank backwards it is about Jason Statham being soaked into the air and landing in a helicopter. His heart is beating heavily, but he uses some instruments (probably the ones Tom Cruise gave to him) to reanimate a bunch of dead people along his way and this seems to calm him down. In the end he comes home, repairs his TV, watches a home video and goes to sleep.
If you watch Oldboy backwards it is about a dentist guy that first makes an extension of his own tongue (which was quite short previously). Some time later a colleague of his shows up in order to fix his teeth but realizes that everything is allright with it. In return he visits this colleague and gives him several caps for his really ugly set of teeth. He also heals and reanimates several other people in the cause of doing this. In the end he spits out an squid at a restaurant. But probably he smuggled it into the country illegally so a few minutes after he gets a phone call and is than imprisoned for fifteen years.
If you watch Inglourious Basterds backwards it is about a spontanious explosion at a movie theatre (quite like the big bang, but not as big) which gives birth to an evil dictator and his followers. These men are so evil that they manage to destroy the friendship of Lt. Aldo Rayne and Col. Hans Landa (Rayne has earlier rescued Landa and healed him from a severe wound on his forehead) and frighten away all American troups from Europe.

If you watch cinderella backwards, its about a princess with one shoe. When she finds her other shoe just before the ball with the prince, she encounters nothing but problems and bad luck, eventually ending up living in poverty with a mean family of strangers.
If you watch A Fish Called Wanda backwards, its a story about K-K-K-Ken trying his best (and successfully) saving all the dogs of an old lady. At the end of the movie, he does his greatest dead - with a team, he manages to return a priceless diamond back into its vault.

And if you watch Run Lola Run backwards, its about a girl that starts in several different alternate beginnings, and has to run backwards through different obstacles, only to end up at the exact same ending. It shows that no matter what your predicament is in life, and no matter what split second choice you make along the way, it makes no difference because if you run backwards, time is irrelevant.

One more: If you watch '21 Grams' backwards, it almost starts to make some sense. ;)

RoboCop... a futuristic robot cop fights crimes and kills the bad guys yets strives to be human. An ambush by an evil gang with machine guns seems bad enough yet it's what ultimately makes him human and he goes on to become a human cop partnered with a policewoman he probably grows to love.

Sister Act... a devoted nun with musical aspirations witnesses a gruesome murder. To hide from the mobster killers she becomes a Reno lounge singer and fits in well since it's what she wanted to be all along and she is never found.

If you watch the Six Sense backwards... He's not Dead...

And if you play Lost Highway backwards... well I would still be trying to figure out the movie without reading any spoilers review ^_^ ( i know i Loved it, just donยดt ask me why )
