Ideas For Pirates of the Caribbean 5?

Rylvan 12 years, 2 months ago at Mar 5 2:26 -
It's a well known fact by now that they want to make a second trilogy, share your ideas and opinions here about how you think they should handle it.

Search For El Dorado, The Lost City Of Gold
POTC 4 was about looking for the Fountain of Youth so, if they're looking to continue that trend of questing for legendary locales, El Dorado and Atlantis are logical choices for parts 5 and 6.
Plus, the Spanish have already been introduced as villains/rivals, and I like the idea of incorporating historical figures like they did with Blackbeard, so having the Conquistadors led either by an aging Hernando Cortes looking for one last adventure (wouldn't be the first example of blatent disregard for historical accuracy in this franchise), a fictional descendant of Cortes, or someone similar from the correct timeframe, as the big bad villain of POTC 5 makes sense. And it's in Central America, so it will still be Pirates of the Caribbean.

Bring Back Mr. Gibbs and Capt. Barbossa
Next to Captain Jack himself, they are the heart and face of POTC. As long as they're still around, I don't care much what else they do with this movie.
Barbossa's got his own badass ship now too, Queen Anne's Revenge, so he can go back to what he was like in the first movie a little bit, not a full-on villain again, but not as buddy-buddy with Jack and the others like he was in parts 2 and 3, more like a business rival/frenemy. I thought he was way more interesting when he was being bad.

Captain Jack's Younger Brother, Russell Brand
Not everybody likes this idea I know, but hell, I think it would be funny. He certainly looks the part, and I'd just love to see a scene between the Sparrow brothers and dear old dad Keith Richards/Captain Teague, I'm sure they'd have an interesting father-sons/sibling dynamic. It would be a good opportunity to explore and see a new side of Captain Jack's character, lest he become stale.
Apparently Johnny Depp likes the idea. Even if I don't trust Brand, I do trust Depp's judgement.

Honestly, the franchise is already losing it.

Yeah, I know, but they're gonna make it anyway so I figure what the hell.

It could take place in in the Gulf of Mexico, near New Orleans and he could have a run-in with the famous pirate, Jean Lefitte.

There were a lot of rumors and legends that have sprung up as a result of Lefitte's exploits. Aside from the usual buried treasure legends, there is an interesting rumor that Lefitte did not die in 1823 while trying to take 2 Spanish ships, but he lived and rescued Napoleon from exile. The legend says they both died in New Orleans. The next installment could have both Napoleon and Lefitte at odds against Captian Sparrow.
