Next Generation/The New Mutants: Iceman, Colossus, Shadowcat, Angel, Jubilee
Cyclops is dead. Jean is dead. Professor X died (although he might come back in his braindead twin brother's non-crippled body like the post-credits scene in X3 implied). So I guess they might as well move on and use the former "X-Kids".
There's already Bobby, Peter, and Kitty, who were all featured prominently in the first three movies, had actual speaking roles, and became full-time X-Men by the end of X3. Then there's Angel, who was only in the third movie but still had a few lines and got in on some of the action in the final battle. And finally, Jubilee, who has actually also been in all three movies as a background character, but her parts kept getting cut out, relegated to the deleted scenes on the DVDs.
New Villain(s)
Magneto and Mystique have both lost their powers, so unless Mags somehow manages to regain his despite overdosing on what, six or eight syringes of the "cure" in X3, we're gonna need some new bad guys.
Maybe Mr. Sinister in some form or another, a slightly more realistic, believable, less overpowered version for all the non-comic book fans. Or perhaps the Sentinels, but for real this time.
I want to see the Purifiers, or the Church of Humanity. I think they both have a lot of potential, but 20th Century Fox probably wouldn't go for it, since it'd probably piss of the Christian community.
Or they could just reboot the whole thing like Spider-Man.

12 years ago at Apr 24 13:26 - I love Magneto, but I do think it's time for a new villain. That's one thing that's ruined the Superman movies - Lex Luthor appearing in every darn one of them! I'd actually love to see the Hellfire Club appear, but I'd be fine with Apocalypse, and even Mr. Sinister would be cool.
I'd like to see them get as many of the core from from Uncanny #94-175 that they can, but they've already pretty well screwed up the roster, Making Iceman party of the younger generation, essentially making Kitty Pride's character into Rogue, not to mention killing Cyclops and Professor X, etc., so I'm not sure how to fix that mess.
